'Land of Women' Episode 5 opens with a flashback to Julia's youth. La Muga is engaged in a game called bittles, a form of bowling with wooden bottles. A young Julia discovers her sister Mariona's (Gloria Muñoz) huge crush on Andreu (Pep Anton Muñoz) and challenges her to a game.

The bet is that if Julia wins, she gets to take Andreu to the dance, and if Mariona wins, she gets to ask him to the dance. However, during the game, Julia decides to let Mariona win because she loves her sister and wants her to be happy.

Julia already knows she is pregnant and thinks Andreu might be the father. However, she keeps this to herself because she wants Mariona to be with Andreu.

The episode fast-forwards to the present, where Gala, Kate, and Julia are being held captive by Tony's men. Gala requests to call Tony, telling the men holding them at gunpoint that she has a deal to repay the $15 million loan her husband Fred (James Purefoy) took.

During the call, she strikes a deal with Tony, agreeing to pay him in installments because that's what she can manage at the moment. She pretends that her family owns the farm and shares her wine business plan in La Muga with Tony.

She informs Tony that she can make a first installment of half a million dollars, and he agrees, setting a deadline for her payment. The deal is accepted, but two men are assigned to closely monitor Gala and her family until the payment is made. When Andreu and Amat (Santiago Cabrera) see them, Gala pretends they are Fred’s family.

At the winery, Gala is confronted by the older ladies, who scold her for leaving them to handle all the work without saying a word. Later, Gala requests Amat to let the two men stay with them. Amat chooses to put the two men in a barn rather than allowing them to stay in the main house.

Later, Amat discovers the men's weapons and becomes convinced they are up to something sinister, but Gala chooses not to say anything.

As the episode progresses, Julia strikes a deal with her sister, just like she did in the past. This time, if Julia wins, Mariona must convince the other women to support Gala's ideas about the wine business. However, during the game, Julia’s thoughts drift to the past, causing her to lose.

Gala asks Andreu and the priest (Joan Pera) for help in locating Julia, as one of them might be her father. They take a strand of Gala’s hair for testing.

When Mariona discovers that Julia has dementia, she stops the car and requests to join them. They locate Julia, and Mariona climbs the hill to sit beside her. Julia, believing she is young, confides in Mariona that she only slept with Andreu once but wants Mariona to be happy, so she plans to leave.

However, due to her dementia, Julia quickly shifts back to her current self and starts yelling at Mariona within moments.

As the episode unfolds, Mariona successfully persuades all the ladies to listen to Gala’s wine business plan, and they ultimately agree to support her vision for La Muga.

Meanwhile, Andreu and the priest inform Julia that they will conduct a DNA test to determine who is the father of Gala.

In the end, when Amat and Gala are alone, she reveals the truth about Tony's men. Just as they are about to kiss, Fred unexpectedly appears at the door. Amat asks who he is, and Gala responds, "That's my husband."

Amat and Gala have begun to develop feelings for each other, creating a spark between them that is evident in their interactions. However, Fred's sudden arrival complicates things for Gala. Despite her growing affection for Amat, she may feel compelled to hold back her emotions due to her marriage to Fred.

It’s possible that Tony’s men may target Fred, given that he is the one responsible for the loan to Tony. This could further entangle Gala in a web of obligations and danger.

It’s also possible that Gala may consider asking Fred for a divorce, especially given the circumstances surrounding his behavior. Fred's decision to leave her and the family to confront danger on their own could be seen as a betrayal.

However, given Fred's behavior, he may ask Gala to pay the debt and could potentially run away to avoid capture by Tony's men, as he is not someone who takes responsibility.

Gala may find herself left to handle all the problems on her own. However, Gala could focus more on her business without distractions.
