Social media users trolled the senator for her unusual pick for the event as one said, 'Krysten Sinema out here looking like a living taxi'

WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Kyrsten Sinema is being trolled for the attire she wore as President Joe Biden addressed the nation in the annual State of the Union address Tuesday night, February 7. The Independent Arizona Senator was seen wearing a bright yellow dress at the House Chamber in Washington DC, stealing the show. 

Sinema, 46, previously worked as a social worker serving as the senior United States senator from Arizona, holding the state since 2019. She is also a former member of the Democratic Party. Sinema, who still caucuses with the party, became independent in December 2022. From 2005 to 2011, she served three terms as a state representative for the 15th legislative district. While she served one term as the state senator for the 15th legislative district from 2011 to 2012, she served three more as the US representative for the 9th district from 2013 to 2019. Sinema is known to be the first openly bisexual person and second openly LGBT woman elected to the US congress, after Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin.

'Looking like a living taxi'

Social media users trolled Sinema, with one of them saying, "Krysten Sinema out here looking like a living taxi.... And MTG out here looking like a white-walker from Game Of Thrones." Another said, "I really admire Sen. Krysten Sinema’s commitment to dressing like she’s an announcer at the Hunger Games. It’s a great bit and I appreciate her sticking with it." "Watching the State of the Union: Someone should tell Krysten Sinema that this is the SOTU, not the Met Gala. Also: If Joe Manchin squeezes any closer to her, he'll lose an eye," one user wrote, while another said, "Waiting for SOTU. Critiquing women’s dresses not my thing, but Krysten Sinema seems to have transformed herself into a butterfly."
