SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Kymberly Herrin, the 'Ghostbusters' star has died at age 65. The actress was also known for being a Playboy Playmate and is reported to have died "peacefully" in Santa Barbara where she used to live, reports Santa Barbara News-Press. She worked in several classic flicks from the '80s, but one that is most remembered by fans was in the iconic 'Ghostbusters' as the seductive Dream Ghost involving Dan Aykroyd’s character during a passionate montage.

The news of her death was made public on Tuesday, November 15, that she died on October 28, in Santa Barbara, California, but the cause of her death was not revealed. Though some of the outlets claim that Kymberly died while suffering from breast cancer. The former model had a successful career and was even named Playmate of the Month during the 1982 issue of Playboy magazine. The other well-known movies Kymberly was part of include ‘Beverly Cop II’, ‘Romancing the Stone’, and ‘Road House', reported the Daily Star.

A few fans reacted to her death on social media, where one wrote, "The name Kymberly Herrin might not ring a bell. But if you were a kid in the 1980s, and you were allowed to see Ghostbusters, you knew who she was. May her memory be a blessing." The other paid homage by saying, "Gone, but not forgotten. She will always be everyone’s Dream Ghost. Hopefully @dan_aykroyd

A Ghostbusters fan site said, "We here at Ghostbusters News offer our condolences to Herrin’s family and friends, along with thanking longtime reader Matthew Ballard for providing us the heads on the passing."



 



 

Speaking on Herrin's character, Aykroyd had said, "I don’t miss anything that we didn’t use. The ghost in the fort — the seduction ghost — in paranormal research that’s a common thing, ghosts doing sexual things to people.” He added, "I have a friend who had three women visit him in a haunted house in Louisiana, and it was one of the greatest nights of his life. But in under two hours, you obviously can’t have everything," as per the report.
