BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Kyle Richards sparked weight loss concerns once again after fellow ‘RHOBH’ star Dorit Kemsley shared a photo that showed the former’s protruding rib cage. However, the reality star confirmed that she was perfectly healthy and she was only “sucking in” her tummy to pose for the picture. Kemsley later took down the photo from her Instagram account.

In the image, Richards was seen wearing a black and white dress while standing alongside her fellow castmates during their trip to Spain. The outfit contained a cutout design along her torso that exposed her trim waist and revealed her rib cage as well a ‘111’ tattoo atop her ribs. The photo comes a few months after Richards denied using a diabetes drug named Ozempic and attributed her weight loss to a healthy diet and exercise, the Daily Mail reported.

‘That’s very frightening’

The image showing Richards’ rib cage immediately sparked concern among fans. “I’m not being facetious is Kyle ill? That’s very frightening,” one asked. “That looks like she is sucking that tummy in..hard,” another added. “Very sad,” a third commented. “Scary looking,” wrote another.

One social media user wrote, “We see these women working out like crazy because with ozempic you actually lose more muscle mass than fat. If they don’t workout they’d be a pile of fat. So unhealthy! If you’re on it admit it!” while another added, “Why would she show off her ribs when they shouldn't look like that??”

Kyle Richards responds to rib cage photo controversy

Richards addressed the concern surrounding her photo by commenting on an Instagram photo by Page Six. “The picture they’re referring to I was sucking in because of the type of dress I had on,” she said. “Which I see now was not a good look,” Richards admitted. “I am actually a healthy weight. I eat very well & workout every day. Anyone who knows me can attest to that,” the ‘Scream’ actress added.

Kyle Richards denies rumors of taking Ozempic

Richards has faced immense scrutiny on her weight loss journey. However, she denied using Ozempic, a diabetes drug that reportedly leads to weight loss, earlier this year. "After gaining weight during the summer — on July 15 — after getting off the boat I said ‘That is it. I’m not having any sugar, any carbs, any alcohol," Richards told Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge during an appearance on the ‘Two T’s In a Pod’ podcast in January.

“A lot of people think I’ve been taking Ozempic. To clarify I’ve never taken Ozempic,” she said. Richards also clarified that she wasn't taking Mounjaro, another diabetes medication, or, “any of the shots” such as Wegovy or Saxenda. The TV personality shared that she only planned to cut down sugar, carbs, and alcohol for “maybe two or three weeks,” but kept going when she saw the positive results.

“I started losing weight and I felt so good. I was like ‘Why would I go back to that?’” Richards said. “So I still have not had alcohol at all, and you know, I’ll have a bite of birthday cake here and there but that’s it,” she shared at the time. She also addressed speculation about undergoing weight loss surgery and said she only went under the knife once for a breast reduction.

“I had a breast reduction. I wanted a tummy tuck because of the skin from having four babies, the excess skin because no matter how much you workout, you always will have that skin, if it’s not taken away,” Richards said.
