Kristin Cavallari has cited “inappropriate marital conduct” and “irreconcilable differences” as the reasons for her divorce from Jay Cutler. 'The Hills' alum has also requested primary custody of their children in divorce papers filed on Friday, April 24.

The pair was together for almost 10 years and has been married for six. They share three children together — sons Camden Jack and Jaxon Wyatt and daughter Saylor James. On June 7, they would have celebrated their seventh anniversary if things were fine.

However, their fairytale marriage came to an end this month. Cavallari claimed in the paperwork that the former footballer “is guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper.” The ‘Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County’ star also denied that the 36-year-old “has always been the available at-home parent and primary caretaker” of their three children.

In the paperwork obtained by Us Weekly, the fashion designer has also requested primary custody of their kids, Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4 as well as asked for child support from the athlete. The legal documents filed on behalf of Cavallari demanded Cutler pay for the children’s health insurance and other related expenses such as dental, orthodontic, and eye care.

As per reports, the divorce was initiated by Cutler, who in his paperwork filed on Tuesday, April 21, mentioned “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation from his wife. However, unlike Cavallari, he has requested joint custody for their kids.

The duo’s date of separation is also different. The ‘Very Cavallari’ actress has mentioned the separation date as April 7, the same day when the family returned from the Bahamas after quarantining there for three weeks amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But Cutler has stated the date of separation as April 21, when he filed for divorce.

Cavallari also announced her separation from Cutler on April 26 in a social media post. Sharing the news with her four million followers on Instagram, the 33-year-old television personality wrote: “With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce."

“We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family,” she added. She also posted a picture of the two from one of their vacations, walking arm in arm.

The pair started dating in 2010 before tying the knot in June 2013. However, reports have claimed that initially, Cavallari did not show any interest in Cutler. "I got a call from my publicist that Jay wanted to fly me out to Chicago and take me out. I didn't know who he was, I had to Google him. I was in the middle of filming 'The Hills' so I was like; 'I don’t want a boyfriend in Chicago and passed on it,'” the actress had said earlier.

In her book 'Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making It All Work', she explained that she was not quite impressed by how she was approached by Cutler. "To be completely honest, years prior I had had a different Chicago athlete go through my publicist to ask me out, so I was a little weirded out by all these Chicago sports guys wanting to date me," she had said.
