Is that Kris Jenner interviewing an 11-year-old Beyonce? Fans confused after Mathew Knowles shares interview video from 1992
When Mathew Knowles shared a throwback clip of his daughter, Beyonce, on a news segment talking about overcoming stage fright, he would not have expected the frenzy surrounding it that has fans thinking that the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch, Kris Jenner, interviewed the adolescent to-be-star.
Knowles shared the video on his Instagram profile as he promoted his book, 'Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story', however, it is the unnamed reporter who has made the news for looking like a dead ringer of Kris Jenner, while interviewing an 11-year-old Beyonce.
A fan immediately reposted the video writing, "Hold the hell up! Is that Kris Jenner interviewing an adolescent Beyoncé?" and another asked if this was a glitch in the matrix. While fans are fawning over the young Beyonce, many are convinced that the reporter is Kris Jenner. The reporter sports Jenner's signature short haircut, makeup style, and oversized jacket that Jenner was known to wear in the 90s.
One fan joked, "The devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder," while another posted, "ok so if everything Kris Jenner touches turns to gold, can she touch me. On God, I want her to bathe me in excellence."
However, as one of the comments on Knowles' Instagram post pointed out, "People. There's no way Kris was moonlighting as a local news anchor in Houston," it is quite unlikely that clip features Kris Jenner, who at the time was busy being a mother to Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and Rob Kardashian, and was settled in Los Angeles having married Caitlyn (then Bruce) Jenner.
Shortly afterward, Lisa Shumate, Houston Public Media's associate vice president, and general manager commented on Knowles' post saying that she is the reporter in the video and had interviewed Beyonce with Don Nelson in 1992 for the 'Good Morning Houston' program.
