With the ever-burning issue of climate change plaguing our planet, a bunch of Hollywood elites has now teamed up as part of the 'Kiss the Ground' project, which will be a documentary-type special chronicling the problem and the first viable solution for it. Here's all you need to know about it.

Release date

Arriving as part of the September fall slate, the special premieres on September 22 on Netflix. 

Plot

According to the official synopsis, "'Kiss the Ground' is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis. 'Kiss the Ground' reveals that by regenerating the world's soils we can completely and rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems and create abundant food supplies."

"Using compelling graphics and visuals, along with striking NASA and NOAA footage, the film artfully illustrates how, by drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle. This movie is positioned to catalyze a movement to accomplish the impossible – to solve humanity’s greatest challenge, to balance the climate and secure our species' future."

Woody Harrelson as the narrator (Netflix)

Narrated by Woody Harrelson, the informative special will feature interviews and bytes from Harrelson himself along with some of the most acclaimed pillars of entertainment. Some of the big names include Ian Somerhalder, Gisele Bündchen, Jason Mraz and David Arquette among others.

Creator

Directed and produced by Josh Tickell and Rebecca Tickell, the film has Bill Benenson, Ryland Engelhart, and Darius Fisher as executive producers.
