'Malice in the palace': Internet divided as King Charles evicts Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage
WINDSOR, ENGLAND: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have been issued an eviction notice for their UK base at Frogmore Cottage. And instead, Buckingham Palace is now seeking to replace the couple with the disgraced Duke of York, Prince Andrew, who stepped back from royal duties over his ties with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The eviction comes days after Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’, released on 10 January 2023, made a series of controversial claims against the royal ramily, as per The Sun. Harry accused Queen Consort Camilla, the King's wife, of leaking stories about him to the British press and called her “dangerous”. In 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper when the Duke of Sussex was asked why he referred to Camilla as "dangerous" in 'Spare.' He said, "because of the need for her to rehabilitate her image. That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press. And there was open willingness on both sides to trade information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen Consort, there was going to be people or bodies left in the street because of that," as per Marie Claire.

'End of Harry and Meghan’s time in UK'
Harry and Markle are now making arrangements to have the remaining belongings they had left behind in the UK shipped to their new home in Montecito, California, as per the outlet. The revelation comes with preparations for King Charles’ Coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6 and there are chances that Harry may not receive an invitation. A royal insider told The Sun, "This surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK." On the other hand, the outlet states, Andrew, who was offered the smaller Frogmore Cottage last week is said to be “resisting.” An insider told, “Andrew is resisting the idea of moving into Frogmore Cottage after he was offered it last week. But it shows Harry and Meghan are powerless to stop the eviction," as per Mirror.
'Frogmore Estate gifted to The Duke and Duchess by late Queen in 2018'
Following the revelation, many were quick to react with one asking, "So if they do come back to UK for visits where are they gonna stay? I thought the house was given to them by the queen?" Another wrote, "Frogmore Estate in Windsor gifted to The Duke and Duchess by the late Queen in 2018. Technically he can’t evict them if the queen gave it to them." Frogmore Cottage was gifted to Harry and Markle by the late Queen when they got married in 2018. Following this, it underwent renovations that cost taxpayers around $2.4 million before they moved in there, reports Mirror.

'Remove those titles'
One of many applauded the move and said, "Well throwing them out the cottage is a very good start by King Charles & now he needs to remove those titles. You see a Monarch is meant to serve The public & respond to public unrest. My god, im not sure unrest is the word, goes beyond that & The Monarch needs to respond." While a user commented, "MALICE IN THE PALACE," with one more saying, "It's more like Harry and Meghan didn't want to renew their lease on Frogmore cottage. Now Charles is trying to save face."
