BYE BYE KANYE: Kim Kardashian drops 'West' from her name after being declared legally single
Kim Kardashian is proudly flaunting her newfound legally single status. The social media star and mother of four kids who she shares with ex-husband Kanye West, removed her last name 'West' from all her social media handles after being declared legally single by the court.
The KKW Beauty founder has put back her maiden name on all social media handles after nearly six years of marraige with Kanye. Kim filed for divorce from Kanye, now legally known as Ye, on February 19, 2021. On Wednesday, a Los Angeles judge approved her request to become legally single while matters regarding child custody and property ownership are getting sorted out.

The legal course of action, in this instance a "bifurcated divorce" -- received objection by the social media star's then husband West. Judge Steve Cochran went ahead and granted her request to have her maiden name restored legally.
A bifurcated divorce means that proceedings will be split into two parts - the first settling her legal name and marital status, which has now been resolved, and the second part involving custody and financial assets.
Kanye, 44, was not present for the hearing and has publicly fought the separation and appealed for Kardashian to return to their marriage.
Kim's legally single status also translates to the fact that Kanye himself is now also legally single. Inside sources revealed that West had expressed his decision to let the divorce proceed after the internet had witnessed West's salty reactions after Kim filed for divorce. The couple had initially agreed on the idea of a divorce mutually, although Kanye's later actions said otherwise.
Kanye has also attacked Pete Davidson, Kim Kardashian's new boyfriend, after the two started dating. The rapper repeatedly posted pictures of text conversations that have happened between him and his ex-wife, including one where Kim appeared to write, "Why can't you keep any of our conversations private ???" Kanye was seen replying to this text saying, "Cause I got a text from my favorite person in the world. I'm your number one fan. Why wouldn't I tell everyone!!!!"
