'This is low': Kim Kardashian slammed for photoshopping Tyra Banks' body to look JUST like hers
Kim Kardashian is being slammed for allegedly photoshopping Tyra Banks' body to look like hers in the new SKIMS campaign ads. People are pointing out the irony of how a brand that projects itself to be body inclusive and positive would do such a thing.
For the new ad of her shapewear line, SKIMS, Kim has brought in some of the most iconic ex-Victoria's Secret supermodels: Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel. According to Skims’ website, the collection consists of "best sellers for every body". Along with the supermodels, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star joined in and posed for a few photos, which she proudly shared and captioned 'iconic' on Twitter and Instagram.

However, after the reality star shared multiple photos from the photoshoot on social media, fans began accusing her company of heavily editing Banks’ body. The amount of photoshopping on Tyra's figure was very apparent, and the model looked more like a Kim K clone than herself. In the ad, Tyra has the exact hourglass figure of Kim with a much smaller waist, which people think is problematic and unnecessary as Tyra is already a very beautiful woman.
The Instagram account Problematic Fame pointed out the differences between an unedited behind-the-scenes video of Tyra posing with her fellow models compared to the finished result. Compared to the original video, Tyra's skin looked noticeably smoother and she appeared to have a smaller waist in the campaign images.
The account wrote: "Appalled to see the amount of photoshop done to Tyra Banks' body in Kim Kardashian's new SKIMS ad campaign." Then, the account went on to mock SKIMs for branding itself as a body positive and body inclusive brand while they photoshop models to look a certain way, by saying, "For a brand that prides itself on body positivity and inclusivity, this is low. In what world does editing Tyra's body into a clone of Kim's endorse any sort of body positivity or inclusivity? "
Sharing the campaign photo of Tyra and Kim together, the account added, "Their bodies are nowhere near this identical in real life. This is insane to me. Tyra's body is perfect, this photoshop is horrendous and completely unnecessary, disappointing."
Appalled by the ad, a Twitter user said, "The fact that Tyra Banks had to be talked into doing the skims campaign and then had her body photoshopped to hell… appalling honestly, @KimKardashian, isn’t ur brand all abt body positivity and inclusivity?"
Another added, "These pics are stunning but Tyra looked so gorgeous naturally and this editing is so bizarre and unnecessary?" "Tyra seems to be a victim of extreme photoshop in this one - where did her body go?", another said responding to an image where Banks is on her hands and knees with her torso hidden while posing next to the other models.
