Who is Travis Bacon? Kevin Bacon reflects on special bond with rarely-seen musician son

Fans and followers of Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick are fully aware of the fact that family is their first priority. This family of four places each other at the top, even before their own respective careers. Kyra's directorial venture 'Space Oddity' premiered at the Tribeca Festival this week. The film stars her husband while their son Travis Bacon has worked on the music.

Speaking to HELLO!, Kevin opened up about the relationship between him and his son. Giving what seemed to be a super adorable shoutout to Travis, he said, "We've collaborated on amazing stuff because I'm a musician too." Elaborating on the bond they share, he added, "They support us and we support them. We all work together in different kinds of capacities," also referring to their daughter Sosie Bacon's professional career as an actress.

The couple's son Travis is credited as the composer of their film 'Space Oddity.' The film revolves around a man who seeks guidance from an insurance company in order to plan his trip to Mars. It hardly comes as a surprise that Travis and his father Kevin Bacon bond beautifully over music. For almost two decades now, the 'Footloose' actor has been performing as one half of The Bacon Brothers alongside his own brother, Michael Bacon. Meanwhile, Travis has his own band called Black Anvil which performs and composes hardcore black metal songs. 

"We like to work together, we don't do it just because it's family, we do it because we like the work, the creative process," said Kevin. Talking about his work in 'Space Oddity' and how it felt to be directed by his wife, Kevin said, "I loved being directed by my wife… She's a fantastic director. She has a very clear vision both with the way things look and feel."

He concluded by stating that he feels the proudest when he receives instructions in the form of tips and tweaks from his wife.

The actor also shared a picture with his wife from Tribeca ahead of the 'Space Oddity' premiere. He wrote, "It was a long journey but we made it to the front door!"
