Prince Louis looks picture perfect in the first official photos of him which were shared by the Kensington Palace on Saturday (May 5). In one of the pictures, Louis is accompanied by his older sister, Princess Charlotte.

The picture was special for two occasions; one, this would be the first picture of Prince Louis that the royal family has shared with the public; and second, it was taken on Charlotte's third birthday which was celebrated on May 2. The photo, taken by mom Kate herself, saw Charlotte placing a gentle kiss on Louis's forehead and taking on the role of a protective older sister.

The photo is remarkably similar to a portrait that Kate took of a then one-month-old Charlotte with her big brother Prince George back in June of 2015. In that picture, George can be seen planting a kiss on his sister’s forehead as he holds her on their couch.

The palace also released another picture of Louis which was taken on April 26, just three days after his birth. Louis is wearing a white jumper and trousers and is wide awake in the picture. Both of the pictures were taken at the family’s home at Kensington Palace.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, taken by The Duchess at Kensington Palace," the palace noted. "Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank members of the public for all of the kind messages they have received following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday,” they added.

While these photos are very different than the ones which were taken by Kate's father, Michael Middleton, after the birth of Prince George, there is no doubt that they portray the love that is shared between the siblings.

Prince Louis was born on April 23. The palace made the announcement that the third royal child was born at 11 am local time at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London. "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," the palace noted on their official Twitter account.
