The world lost one more icon today and this time, we lost a legend in music. Kenneth Ray Rogers aka Kenny died on March 19. He was 81. Throughout his career, the American singer, songwriter, actor, record producer and entrepreneur had not only touched people's hearts but also their lives. His music found a place in every generation of fans.

As soon as the news of his tragic demise broke out, people took to Twitter, sharing their sorrows, their favorite songs of Rogers and grieving the loss of a legend. He was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

"No More #kennyrogers so Sad and Heart Broken," said a fan. Another admirer of his country and folk music commented, "What a great country experience you have made for the days of your living! Adios #KennyRogers."

Some, like this fan, believe that his legacy will always remain. He said, "Kenny Rogers has passed away but legends live on... rest easy. #kennyrogers." And we couldn’t agree more.

Rogers's music had not only generated a fanfare in the United States but across the world. A fan, all the way from France mourned, "I'm sad this morning I just learned of the death of #KennyRogers at the age of 81 at home in Sandy Springs, Georgia. there will remain an ICON, music, singer but also an excellent actor, so I offer you a tribute. RIP Mr Kenny Rogers, I will miss you!"

Most Twitter fans, like this particular individual, posted his popular song 'The Gambler' in his memory.

"R.I.P Kenny Rogers aka 'The Gambler' May God be with you on your journey to that heavenly choir in the skyn #KennyRogers #TheGambler," one wrote.

Some fans got all nostalgic and remembered his music on this tragic day. Another wrote, "Kenny Rogers reminds me of being a little girl in the 80s, back seat of my mom’s station wagon. No a/c, windows down, mom singing Kenny on the radio. My heart is sad RIP #KennyRogers #legend."

For those unaware, the Grammy-winning song (1980) was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress in 2018, and thus remains a historical work of music. It was also Rogers’ signature creation, which he weaved into a character, later used for a series of TV movies. One of them was the Emmy nominated, 'Kenny Rogers as The Gambler'.

Like everyone around the world, we mourn the loss of an icon and a legend and hold onto his beautiful creations forever.
