LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Katharine McPhee and David Foster welcomed infant son Rennie in 2022, and it seems as though the pair may welcome another baby into their family soon! The actress has stated that she would very much love to welcome another child with her musician husband Foster, who is 34 years her senior. “We’re not, like, in any crazy rush, but, um, I hope so because I love being a mom. I really love it,” McPhee had said, in her appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show.’

Rennie is McPhee’s first child and Foster’s sixth. He is already father to five daughters- Allison, Amy, Sara, Erin and Jordan but Rennie is his first son. The pair have been married since February 2021, and their nuptials had taken place in London. More recently, Foster had also spoken about how much he enjoys family life and being a new dad all over again in the later stages of his life.

'We don't care': Katharine McPhee, 38, and David Foster, 73, unfazed by social media flak over age gap

Show host Hudson had also asked McPhee if Rennie can sing like his mother. The ‘American Idol’ alum had joked about her baby boy’s singing skills, saying, "So far I would say his singing isn't his strong suit. I mean, he's under 2, so I'm not trying to be too critical here."

While McPhee and Foster seem to have a great marriage, they had received tons of flak for their age gap. Foster had brushed it off with ease, saying that it wasn’t much of a big deal. A report by E News states that Foster had said, "People always make the reference with Kat and I with the age difference, but I've always said there's so many things that can bring a marriage down, and age difference is just one of them. There's so many things that can go wrong. We think we have it pretty together."

He also opened up about having a child in his 70s to People, saying he “loved every single day.” The septuagenarian told the outlet, "It's just great being a dad. It's too cliché to say 'Now I have more time,' but I do: I have more time. Without any reflection on any of my other children, whom I all love equally, and equally as much as my son."

Foster and son Rennie seem to have a great bond with each other, with McPhee confirming their close relationship. “He's always walking into a room saying, 'Where's my baby? Where's our baby?' He wants to hold the baby all the time, and be around the baby,” she said. So while they may not be in a rush, it is certain that they would make it work perfectly well should they welcome another baby.
