Kate was 'intimidated' by Meghan's bold fashion choices and was forced to revamp her wardrobe
Kate Middleton reportedly felt 'slightly intimidated' by the fashion choices of Meghan Markle, an insider shared.
Kate reportedly went through a phase where she felt a bit intimidated by Meghan's bold fashion style. This led to the Duchess of Cambridge revamping and modifying her wardrobe and also makeup choices, the insider added.
"She most definitely went through a phase two years ago where she seemed slightly intimidated by Meghan. She was afraid of comparisons being drawn between them and that Meghan was the one who looked glamorous and popular for a while," a source shared with the Sun's Fabulous.
However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently stepped down as senior members of the royal family and left to settle in the US. Given the 'Megxit', Kate has been seen returning to her original style and fashion, the source revealed.
"Someone who knows Kate well said ‘the atmosphere since the Sussexes left has noticeably improved'. Kate does not feel she has to compete now. She has gone back to a much simpler style. Kate feels very much more relaxed now," the insider added.
Since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak and lockdown, Kate's last event took place on March 19 when she and Prince William had visited the NHS 111 call center in Croydon. For the public engagement, she had sported a blush high street suit from Marks & Spencer.
She was also seen sporting the same outfit in a photograph that was shared by Kensington Palace last week. In the photograph, Kate is seen sitting at her desk while on the phone. The picture had been captioned, "Self-isolation and social distancing can pose huge challenges to our mental health."
"In recent weeks The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been in regular contact with organizations and patronages to understand the issues they are facing during this difficult time. "Last week The Duke spoke to @mindcharity CEO Paul Farmer, and The Duchess spoke to Catherine Roche, CEO of @_place2be."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had first announced that they wanted to step down as senior members of the royal family in January. The couple announced their desire to be financially independent and wanted to be part-time royals which would mean carrying out royal duties and also private lucrative projects.
However, the Queen did not approve of this and so the couple announced that they would be renouncing their royal duties and the use of their HRH titles. We had previously reported that the couple has left Canada and is hoping for some help with secret service protection as they embark on their new life in LA with baby Archie.
POTUS Donald Trump announced that the USA would not be taking on the couple's $24 million security bill after they stepped down as senior members of the royal family. Trump took to Twitter to share, "I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the US. However, the US will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!"
