A customer at Taco Bell Austin De Leon (@aauzzie) posted a video on TikTok showing a pair of “Karens” who were insulting an employee behind the counter over the cost of the food which cost $200. Leon and other customers defended the employee.

The video has garnered over 150,000 views. In another video, Leon shared details on the incident, describing how the two women present in the video came in to pay for their food after ordering on the app. They complained about the price, after which Leon started recording.

In the video, one woman said to the employee, “I feel sorry for your parents. They need to do a better job.” The fast food employee weighs in, sarcastically adding, “I feel sorry for you guys,” while taking the to-go boxes off the counter. “Don’t even take the food.”

After this, one of the women starts screaming at the employee. She said, “We just paid for that goddamn food,” adding, “Put it down.” As the argument escalated, other customers in the restaurant chimed in the conversation. Leon said, “Hey ma’am, please quit yelling. I’m trying to enjoy my food.” The Taco Bell employee then explains the situation to the camera, “$200 worth of food, and they get mad at us for the price.”

A customer is heard saying, “You’re pathetic,” while another customer jokes, “My daddy owns this corporation, I swear to god.” The women are left startled by seeing the group of customers. According to a report in Business Insider, the highest price increases have been 10% at Taco Bell, 8% at McDonald's, and 8% at Dunkin', followed by Chipotle and The Cheesecake Factory between the summer of 2020 and 2021.

The employees, therefore, working at the outlets are at the receiving end of the wrath of the customers. The Taco Bell customers who defended the employee were praised by users on Tik Tok. One person said, “New generations sticking up to Karens. Love it,” while another added, “I love Gen Z.”

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, another Karen was spotted misbehaving with a worker at a CVS. The woman was recorded shouting at a male staff for refusing to sell her a product after she had thrown an object at his face. While the meltdown has caught a lot of attention, it looks like the reason behind it is still pretty vague. The argument was mostly one-sided, with the 'Karen' turning to the woman recording the whole event as it took place.

The aggressive woman apparently wanted to buy an item from the retail company off of the coupon she received that day. The male employee, however, could not sell the "pictures" that the woman desired as she wanted to use the store coupons on the purchase. It is unknown if the coupons were meant to be used on the very day or later.
