'Nightmare' at Taco Bell: Woman's rant against rude staff who delayed food and refused refund goes viral

A TikToker has recounted her horror experience at a Taco Bell which included long delays, unfriendly employees, and ultimately no food and no refund, in a video with over 47,000 views. Chloe, who goes by the handle @misschloemaam on the platform, said in the caption of the video, "@tacobell i am not having a baja blast of a day after this experience. So we were out of there. So we left: no food, 30 minutes later, and my money’s still gone,” she said.

Chloe claimed that she and her mother used the Taco Bell app to place an order at an outlet near them. According to her, the dish was still in the preparation stage when they went to pick it up. Although it seemed like little work was being done on her order, Chloe says she decided to wait though in her experience mobile orders are typically finished by the time a customer arrives for pick-up.

Chloe continued to wait. After some time, she asked a staff member if the restaurant was busier than anticipated. “I’m like, ‘hey, do you know when my order is going to be ready? She went back and asked someone, and she comes back and she goes, ‘I’m not sure. Just a really long time,'" Chloe mentioned in her TikTok.

Chloe says she decided to wait on the order for a while. After some time, she changed her mind and requested a refund from the Taco Bell staff, who allegedly refused to do so. They instead advised her to use a complaint form on the Taco Bell website to request a refund.

Chloe's mother, who reportedly works in customer service, then walked into the Taco Bell. According to Chloe, her mother instructed the shop to put the refund on a gift card. The worker however declined once more. “It was like, $16, but still,” Chloe said, adding she was not worried about the money but the way the employees treated them. Chloe says in the video that the only choice left was to complain. Chloe's mother requested a meeting with the manager or at the very least, the manager's name. Both inquiries were turned down.

Users questioned Taco Bell in the comments section, and many of them shared their own Taco Bell horror experiences. “Our TB’s drive thru traps you in and one time my spouse got stuck for 2.5 hours, the cars in front would not move,” a user commented. “THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME I WAITED 45 MINUTES INSIDE!!!!” another user claimed. “Last time I went to taco bell was when we walked through the dive through because they wouldn’t serve us in the dining room,” a third commented.
