Kanye West samples Kamala Harris' 'We did it, Joe' moment on track at 'Donda 2' listening event
Kanye West who now goes by the name Ye took a dig at Vice President Kamala Harris by sampling her viral, "We did it, Joe" moment on a track during the Donda 2 listening event in Miami. The 'Donda Experience Performance' featured live appearances from Pusha T, Migos, Jack Harlow, Playboi Carti, Alicia Keys, and Marilyn Manson on Tuesday, February 22.
Ye, 44, used the audio from a video posted by Vice President Harris on Twitter on November 7, 2020, in which she calls her running mate, President Joe Biden, to congratulate him on their joint election victory. The audience of the star-studded event was surprised after they heard Harris' voice from the recording at the top of the song, 'Louis Bags' performed by Jack Harlow.

Kamala Harris in 2020 shared the clip on her Twitter with caption, "We did, it @JoeBiden." In the clip, an overjoyed Harris tells Biden on the other end of the line: "We did it. We did it, Joe. You're going to be the next president of the United States." The short clip has been viewed 50 million times and has been retweeted more than 545,000 times. It is unclear why Kanye chose to sample Harris' audio, whom he has criticized multiple times in the past. Also, it seems unlikely he intended this reference to Harris' audio to be flattering because he was a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump.
After the sampled video was shared on the internet, some social media users seemed to be certain that Kanye mocked Harris by including the sample in Donda 2 while others mocked the rapper for the act. One user wrote, "Man's running out of ideas". Another tweeted, "This cannot be real". "Something's weird about this. I'm getting big warning vibes", wrote a third. A fourth added, "Idk what it sending me more the 'we did it Joe', the fact they look stupid marching in that water, or Jack Harlow."
A fifth putting it more blatantly said, "This man has lost his mind." Another user wrote, "The Chicagoan in me 'OMFG THIS MUTHAFUCKA REALLY WENT CRAZY BECAUSE THIS IS AN ODE TO THE CITY' but the political black woman in me is like 'Is this some type of diss to the VP because if it is, he wild as f**k". Someone else confirmed, "Kanye trolling Kamala and Biden hard with this 'We did it Joe' sample lol.."
Harris was not the only celebrity to get trolled during Kanye's Miami listening event introducing his new album, Donda 2. The rapper also sampled a clip from his estranged wife Kim Kardashian's Saturday Night Live monologue, in which she praised the rapper as a "talented, legit genius" and he conveniently left out the second part, in which she joked that she divorced her husband because of his personality.
