CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA: Kanye West is getting slammed across the online platforms for selling his latest Yeezy clothing collection in trash bags. Fans of his clothing line couldn't believe that his new Yeezy line for GAP was displayed in trash bags at the rapper's request.

Kanye has been in the news recently for the feud with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. However, the controversy about his clothing line sparked after a user tweeted a photo of clothes dumped in black trash bags.

On Monday, August 15, a tweet stated," This is how they are selling Yeezy GAP. The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had it on hangers, and this is how he wanted it. They won’t help you find ur size too, you just have to just dig through everything". Last week, the rapper took to Instagram to say, "Look to the children, Look to the homeless, As the biggest inspiration of all designs" indicating his latest clothing line is inspired by the homeless and children. Yeezy's collaboration with GAP was one of the most significant fashion collaborations in 2021. It eventually brought the rapper's acclaimed fashion brand, Yeezy, over to the retailer. Kanye has also been working extensively for the betterment of the poor. According to TMZ, Kanye wants to create a plan to feed the homeless by establishing a working relationship with various organizations across the city. He also wants to use his own companies to help provide education, jobs, and housing for the underprivileged.

"I thought it was a weird inventory thing"

The netizens were quick to respond to this controversy. A user tweeted, "but it’s directly impacting the customers who have to rummage through the bags and employees that either have to deal with customer rage over not being helped OR have to rummage through the bags with them. He made it harder on everyone BUT the corporation." Later a user claimed, "I kinda think so too. I love Kanye but couldn't imagine paying $200 for basic clothes out of a bag on the floor. These aren't CD/TLR fans, rich kids/Hypebeasts don't mind going out of their way to look trendy/cool. I think he exploits their vanity to build his empire."

Another tweet said, "Is THAT what that was? Saw it at the Grove. I thought it was a weird inventory thing. Even BEFORE Covid I'm not digging through a pile of clothes like that." Another user tweeted, "In Poland we just call them 2nd hand stores lol". A user added, "He really going hard on his “homeless” statement pieces , i will never understand the purpose of this “fashion” line. There’s those in the streets who have to look the way they look cause they have no choice, but ppl spend $$$ too look like those who are less fortunate." "Making it look like you’re digging through giant trash bags for clothes. Interesting." another tweet read.
