According to individuals who spoke with Rolling Stone, Kanye West submitted a number of trademark applications for the terms "Yecosystem" and "Yeezyverse" last month - a step toward fulfilling Ye's goal of creating his own "universe."

Two Yeezy sources claimed that West has been working on building his own self-contained community for years. They describe it as a self-sustaining business with its own branded goods and services.

According to one insider, the proposal is genuine and includes plans to open the first campus as soon as next month. The insider claims that West plans to eventually create these micro-communities all throughout the nation.

Mascotte Holdings, West's business, submitted the applications on September 23. They include 13 separate sets of rights for goods and services, such as branded food and drinks, retail locations, and an internet presence using Ye's name.

Although the location of the "Yecosystem" has not yet been determined, a source told Rolling Stone that the first community created around the budding brand is under construction and that a first campus might debut as soon as next month. According to the applications, the "self-sustained firm" would have enough branded enterprises to cover its costs, serving as a miniature city operated completely by West's brands. These businesses would range from housing to food and clothes sales to design services and nutritional consulting.

In addition to his Yeezy apparel line and creative content company, West has already established his own school, from PreK through 12th-grade levels, with plans to expand to a university.

"He's trying to do shit that people couldn't even conceive of and he's trying to make it happen," a source told Rolling Stone. "He comes from a good place. It's definitely his goal that everything that people touch that's his is a good thing and has a good impact on the world."

Adidas and Balenciaga, among other companies, recently cut connections with the artist and fashion designer after his contentious remarks drew some flak. Ye had hinted at the "Yecosystem," which would give him total creative and legal authority over its associated economic dealings, in a CNBC interview last month.

Yecosystem is definitely still in the early stages of development, but this isn't West's first attempt at designing a city from scratch. In 2020, the artist revealed designs for an "eco town" that never came to pass but would have mostly concentrated on creating a self-sufficient community for women and children.
