LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amid the ongoing backlash against Kanye West's antisemitic remarks, a new report claims that the 45-year-old rapper idolizes Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. In fact, the report also said that he wanted to name his 2018 album after the Nazi leader before calling it ‘Ye’.

A former executive who used to work with West is alleging that the rapper had an open “obsession” with Hitler, CNN reported. The unidentified executive said, "He would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people." The individual, who worked with the Yeezy CEO and left his position while reaching a settlement with West and some of his companies over workplace complaints, including harassment, further added that the rapper would talk about having read Hitler’s autobiographical manifesto 'Mein Kampf,' the 1925 autobiographical manifesto written by the Nazi Party leader while he was in prison in 1923 following his attempted coup in Munich.

This is not the first time that someone has linked West and Hitler. Van Lathan Jr, a former TMZ employee, who confronted West during his 2018 interview in which the rapper said slavery “sounds like a choice,” said during an episode of the 'Higher Learning' podcast earlier this month, "I mean, I was taken aback because that type of antisemitic talk is disgusting. It’s like, I’m taken aback any time anyone does that, right? But as far as [West], I knew that that was in him because when he came to TMZ, he said that stuff and they took it out of the interview. … He said something like, ‘I love Hitler, I love Nazis.'"

On the other hand, people were quick to react to these claims. One tweeted by saying, "Am I really supposed to believe Kanye West is obsessed with Hitler? Even celeb gossip is partisan these days!" While another wrote, "Kanye may admire Hitler, but the feeling would not have been mutual."

Commenting on the claims, a user wrote, "Too bad he didn't. He would have been dumped in the dust bin long ago." One more said, "I don't support Kanye West for a multitude of reasons, but this new narrative being pushed that he wanted to call his last albums "Hitler" is so ridiculous and I'm sorry but his comments about THAT community seem to be being proven right." Another continued the thread by saying, "I’m just calling it how I see it… Kanye West makes a bunch of disturbing comments about the black community for YEARS… Nothing happens.. He brings up hitler and jews then all hell breaks loose.."
