Kim Kardashian ruled legally SINGLE from Kanye West, fans say 'been a ride with a mad man’

A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge granted Kim her single status. The reality star will now be allowed to drop the surname West

After more than a year of mud-slinging on the Internet between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, the latter finally got “legally single” after she attended a court hearing via video conference on Wednesday, March 2. Kim’s lawyer was present in the court whereas, Kanye West was nowhere to be seen. Kim Kardashian had filed for a divorce with her rapper husband back in February 2021.
 
According to reports, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge allowed Kim to have her single status on Wednesday, March 2. The reality star will now be allowed to drop the surname West and is free to use her name- Kim Kardashian. According to TMZ, Kanye West’s lawyer did not object to Kim restoring her single status but the rapper had placed three conditions out of which the judge only agreed for one. Kim had recently expressed how eagerly she desired to be divorced.

Despite Kanye West’s delay, Kim K finally gets legally single

Kim’s single status comes nearly three months after she had asked the judge to change her marital status. Kanye, on the other hand, was reportedly trying to stall the divorce by not signing the documents. The 44-year-old rapper reportedly was not showing any interest in the legal proceedings and was also not acting swiftly. Speaking of the divorce being finally granted, Kanye’s three conditions included- any right to get reimbursement of money that's supposed to be divided up will be preserved in case either of them dies- to which the judge agreed. He, however, declined the other two conditions i.e. - that Kim would not transfer any assets she had in trust, and if Kim remarries she would waive the "marital privilege." That privilege means a new spouse would not have to testify about communications he had with her.
 
TMZ reported that Kim also answered a few other questions that also included if there were problems in her relationship and whether her marriage could be saved with counseling. Kim answered "yes" to the first and "no" to the other. Kim then was granted the legally single status by the court. Kim, in one of her recent court documents, had said, “I very much desire to be divorced” adding that Kanye’s social media posts had caused her "emotional distress." Kim had shared, “I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so. Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress. I believe that the court terminating our marital status will help Kanye to accept that our marital relationship is over and to move forward on a better path which will assist us in peacefully co-parenting our children." Kim and Kanye got married in 2014 and share four kids namely North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

Social media users slammed Kanye’s erratic behavior while expressing their happiness for Kim getting single. “Kim K single now, but her body still belongs to the plastic industry”, said one user as another posted, “Kim K is single im happy for her that s**t is so toxic.” Another posted, “So happy for Kim k she is finally single I would’ve left Kanye’s weird a** too.”
 
Whereas, the next one shared, “I'm overjoyed and so relieved that Kim k is at last declared legally single. I just hope going forward the situation between her and Kanye calms down and we aren't included in anyway.”  One individual tweeted, “The world is literally ending and we’re supposed to care that kim k is single.” Another user added, “The fact that Kim K is officially single makes her 10 times hotter.” And, one shared, “Not the judge declaring kim k legally single. Good for her. Kanye is nuts.” One user concluded, “@KimKardashian I'm so happy for you. It's been a ride with a mad man. Continue to keep your kids safe.”
