On the Fourth of July, Kanye West made an unexpected announcement claiming he was running for the president of America in 2020. The rapper tweeted: “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION.”

Following the announcement, West also held a campaign rally in South Carolina on July 19 where he seemed disorganized. While his rants were initially political, they soon turned personal as he shared intimate details including he and his wife Kim Kardashian considering abortion when she was pregnant with North in 2012. Later, his very-public meltdown and erratic behavior continued in a series of now-deleted tweets that he posted on Monday, July 20, where he appeared to insult Kim and said his children would "never do Playboy." The ‘Jesus is King’ singer even accused his wife of flying from Los Angeles to Wyoming, where he is currently living, "with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughters life yesterday."

West’s behavior has grown increasingly unpredictable in the past few weeks. But instead of getting help from his wife or family members, the ‘Famous’ singer is currently at his home estate in Wyoming surrounded by friends and was even visited by comedian Dave Chappelle. On July 21, he posted a video and wrote: “THANK YOU DAVE FOR HOPPING ON A JET TO COME SEE ME DOING WELL DAVE YOU ARE A GOD SEND AND A TRUE FRIEND ALL LOVE.”

Kanye West’s relationship with his family

On Wednesday, July 22, West made it clear that he does not need Kim’s help after accusing her of 'White supremacy'. In a now-deleted tweet, he said: “Kriss and Kim put out a statement without my approval...that’s not what a wife should do  White supremacy”. Besides, it has been reported that the Chicago native does not share a close relationship with his siblings.

Though West is the only child of Ray West and Donda West, who died in 2007 following complications after plastic surgery procedures, he does have a step-brother and step-sister after his father remarried. But according to reports, the half-siblings do not share a great bond. In an interview given to Heat magazine in 2015, West’s step-sister Aliya Jones said that she did not believe her half-brother was as good of a husband as it may seem. In fact, she added: “A lot of people cheat and it is much easier for him to cheat than anyone else. If you’re Kanye West and you’ve got women throwing themselves at you everywhere you go, there’s going to be temptations to stray.”

Not very nice things to say about one’s step-brother and probably that is why the half-siblings are not close. A year later after Jones’s not-so-kind interview, her brother Hal Carmichael spoke out about West’s mental health in 2016. “No one thought Paris would happen in a million years and now he’s seen it happen to Kim, it’s traumatizing. Ye is tired, he’s hurt, he feels betrayed and he’s probably feeling depressed. I think Kanye got to a point when he was fearing for his life and for his family’s safety because of what went down in Paris – I think it took a toll on him,” the step-brother told The Sun, referring to Kim Kardashian's brutal robbery in Paris in 2016.

Reports have also claimed that 2014 was the year when Yeezy last met his step-brother Carmichael. They have not seen each other since then. Additionally, when the Kardashian-Jenner clan appeared on ‘Family Feud’ against the West family in 2018, the father-of-four did nit invite his step-siblings. Instead his cousins -- Kim, Jalil, and Rick -- appeared on the show.
