Kim Kardashian says Kanye not engaging family in getting help after rapper accuses wife of 'White supremacy'
Kim Kardashian has broken her silence over husband Kanye West's erratic behavior in the past few days. Taking to Instagram Story, the 39-year-old wrote: “We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most. I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we get through this. Thank you for those who have expressed concern for Kanye’s well being and for your understanding. With Love and Gratitude, Kim Kardashian West.”
In the second message posted on the social media site, Kim said that she understands her rapper husband “is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times cause strong opinions and emotions.” The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star also acknowledged that West is a “brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bipolar disorder.”
Later in the message, Kim mentioned: “Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions. Living with bi-polar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams, no matter how big or unattainable they may feel to some. That is the part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his big dreams have come true.”
In the third message posted on the Story, the mother-of-four said that she had not spoken publicly about West’s bi-polar disorder because she is “very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when its come to his health.” However, she finally chose to comment because “of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.” Kim added, “Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.”
This comes after a source revealed to People.com that Kim is "furious" and "most upset" with West’s unexpected overnight Twitter spree. The thing that hurt her the most was West’s claim that Kim’s mother Kris Jenner cannot see their children. The model and her husband share four children together - North, 7, Saint, 4½, Chicago, 2½, and Psalm, 14 months.
The ‘Jesus is King’ singer on Monday night, July 20, tweeted: “Kriss don't play with me you and that calmye are not allowed around my children. Y'all tried to lock me up." The social media message also appeared to be directed towards Kris’ boyfriend Corey Gamble. However, later the tweet was deleted.
Speaking of how the reality TV star is feeling about her husband’s rant, the insider said: “She was most upset that (Kanye) said that Kris isn't allowed around the kids. Nothing could be further from the truth. Kris is an important part of the kids' lives and Kim loves the bond they have. She's 100% allowed around the kids."
Earlier, West was not happy with his wife as he said in a now-deleted post on Twitter: “Kriss and Kim put out a statement without my approval...that’s not what a wife should do White supremacy”.
