Online petition to DROP Kanye West as Coachella headliner gathers steam as rapper's woes pile up
Kanye West was recently announced as one of the headliners of Coachella 2022 also including Billie Eilish and Harry Styles. While the music lovers were initially fine with the line-up, it looks like things got sour after Kanye took a dig at Trevor Noah, while also taking shots at Pete Davidson and DL Hughley among a few others on Instagram. The petition also took Kanye’s rants against Kim Kardashian in the wake of their children.
A petition to drop Kanye West as the headliner for Coachella 2022 surfaced on the Change.org website asking for 5000 signatures. The petition also shared the reason why they wanted the 44-year-old rapper off the list from the music festival revealing that he has been hurting and manipulating Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. The petition came a few hours after the Grammy-winning rapper got banned from posting on Instagram for 24 hours after he posted racial slurs targeting Trevor Noah.

What does the petition say?
The petition on Change.org asks Kanye West to be removed as one of the headliners of Coachella 2022. It states, “We have watched Kanye harass, manipulate, and hurt Kim, Pete, and others for over a year now. No one seems to want to stand up to him, and the ones that do, he puts under fire as well.” The petition continues, “Most recently, he has been threatening actual bodily harm on others. This is ridiculous that he is allowed to freely do this” concluding, “Coachella (along with other brand names that are still working with him) should be ashamed of themselves and should not be giving him any more of a platform. Please sign & share!”
Will Kanye West be dropped from Coachella 2022?
Despite the petition, the officials from Coachella have not yet responded. Kanye West too has not shared anything on the same. MEAWW will keep you posted. The rapper had recently shared one of the screenshots from his music video of ‘Eazy’ where his animated avatar is seen burying the cartoon version of Pete Davidson alive whilst being surrounded by a bunch of roses. He had captioned the post asking if everyone was ready for Coachella. However, the ’Donda’ hitmaker soon deleted the post like he always does.
Coachella, which is one of the biggest music festivals on the planet, is scheduled for April 15-17 and April 22-24. Speaking of the venue, just like every year, the mega event will be held in Indio, California. The Southern California-based event usually attracts more than 100,000 people a day. Kanye West had recently taken a dig at Billie Eilish that he won’t perform at Coachella unless the latter apologized to Travis Scott. This came after Billie had stopped her concert to help a fan with an inhaler. It was assumed that the singer’s act was pointed towards Travis’ Astroworld tragedy.
