Justin Timberlake made headlines last week when he was trolled for his awkward dance routine during a Washington DC performance. The viral incident occurred on Saturday, June 18, when Timberlake took the stage during Pharrell’s 'Something in the Water' music festival, wearing a green, short sleeved button-down shirt and a pair of khaki pants, complete with orange sneakers, giving the ultimate dad vibe as a father of two.

During his performance, the former 'NSYNC member attempted to bust out some Beat Ya Feet-style dance moves, which have been popular in the DC area for more than 20 years. However, many fans were not impressed with Timberlake's skills and he ended up getting ridiculed on Internet for his moves.

Videos of Justin awkwardly dancing quickly went viral, prompting Twitter users to roast the 10-time Grammy winner. One user commented "That's Justin Timberlake? I thought it was some random middle aged white dude trying to dancing before clicking on full screen." Another user tweeted "Dear @jtimberlake, I just watched your video of you saying “AYE DC BEAT YA FEET” and then you started to do a River dance mix with tap dancing. We do not like that and do not do that shit again. (Shit funny tho) Sincerely, Some guy from uptown." "That video of Justin Timberlake ”dancing” is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen" a tweet read.

The Internet trolling has now led to Justin posting a hilarious apology on his Instagram Stories.  "D.C., I want to apologize to you for two reasons: here and here," he said in a video on June 22, as he zoomed the camera to a close up of his feet. "I had a long talk with both of them, individually, and said, 'Don't you ever do that to me again.'" He added, "Maybe it was the khakis. It was a real khaki vibe." Justin then promised to make it up to his fans and to focus on "these two guys right here," referring to his feet, to "get it right." In addition to the hilarious apology video, the 'Cry Me a River' singer also shared a video from TikToker Corey O'Brien recreating his questionable dance routine step-by-step, in khakis no less. Fans again jumped to twitter to share their opinion on Justin's apology video.

One user commented, "Y’all done made Justin Timberlake make an apology video because of his performance." "I am crying!!!! DC really shamed Justin Timberlake into an apology for that little jig he did. I’m not gonna lie , when I saw him get started with it during the show, my first thought was “they are gonna eat him up once this hits the internet” another user tweeted. "Y’all clowned Justin Timberlake so bad he had to give us an apology" a tweet read. "Gave an apology about your wack dancing before you apologized to Janet Jackson for throwing her under the bus. I’m not worried tho, Justin Timberlake, your face shows all you’ve done" a twitter user pointed.
