'Jane the Virgin' star Justin Baldoni debuts new look after cutting off long hair for charity donation
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Justin Baldoni has cut off his long hair for a good cause. After spending four years growing out his hair, the 39-year-old 'Jane the Virgin' star posted a video of himself donating it to Locks of Love on Instagram. The nonprofit specializes in creating bespoke wigs for children whose hair has fallen out due to medical conditions.
In a sweet video, Baldoni captured the entire process and explained to his son where the hair was going. On April 15, Justin posted a video of himself entering the salon with his family at his side on Instagram. Baldoni has taken on the roles of producer and director since 'Jane the Virgin' came to an end, as per US Weekly.

'And it's done'
Baldoni told his five-year-old son Maxwell Roland-Samuel, "The reason you're cutting it like that baby is 'cause Daddy's gonna donate his hair to somebody who can't grow their hair 'cause maybe they got cancer like Uncle Zach, or they lost their hair," as he sat in the chair with his hair divided into many ponytails. Baldoni captioned the clip with the words "And it's done," adding #fouryearsinthemaking and #youcantelliwasnervousbymygumchewing.
"So he's gonna give all this hair to somebody. That's why you gotta cut it perfectly right there," Baldoni added. While Maiya Grace, 7, closed her eyes, Maxwell began to trim the first lock of his father's hair. She cutely said, "Tell me when it's done." Baldoni explained with tears in his eyes, "I'm not crying because I'm cutting my hair. I'm crying because this is going to somebody."
The remaining hair is later trimmed, and the children appear in the footage posing with their father while wearing ponytails. The actor's hair is then cleaned up by a professional stylist. The two children then count to three in an endearing transition as the father of two asks them if they're ready, at which time they remove their hands from the camera for the big unveiling of his shorter hairdo.
What is Justin Baldoni doing now?
Baldoni has taken on the roles of producer and director since 'Jane' ended. Prior to making his directorial debut with the Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson-starring film 'Five Feet Apart', he cofounded the Wayfarer Studios with Ahmed Musiol in 2019. In addition to directing the Disney+ musical 'Clouds', Baldoni will also direct the upcoming 'It Ends With Us', an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's book.
The California native also conducts the 'Man Enough' podcast, which serves as the basis for his autobiography of the same name. After marrying Emily Baldoni (Foxler) in 2013, Baldoni welcomed daughter Maiya in 2015 and son Maxwell in 2017.

And we missed Rafael!" Someone else mentioned their cancer battle and wrote, "I am fighting my own cancer battle right now, breast cancer. Fortunately, I don’t need chemo therapy, so I will be cutting my hair and donating it to “locks of love”. I was going to donate, regardless of whether or not I needed the chemo, but it just seems more meaningful to help those who do require chemotherapy. This is awesome Justin."
Praising Baldoni's kind act, an individual wrote, "Welcome back Rafael Solano!! 😂😂❤️❤️ What a wonderful act of love! I did that too, 2 years ago, for my friend who passed away 3 days after the cut." "Oh it looks GOOOOOOOD!!!! Cutest family video of all time! Baldoni’s for the win!" another declared. "It looks so great and for such a great cause! Love that the kids got to be a witness and participants," someone else noted. "What your beautiful wife said! “Super hot” well done Samson hope you’re feeling the strength from your generosity and convictions and absolutely no weakness from the big cut!" another comment read.
