The sequel to 2017's 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' starring Dwayne Johnson, Nick Jonas, Karen Gillan is slated to release on December 13.
UPDATED JUL 3, 2019

'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' the successful 2017 movie set after twenty years of the original 'Jumanji' which starred Robin William evolved from a board game into a video game. The film starred Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas in lead roles among others and received a good response at the box office too. Following this, in February 2018, the makers announced a sequel to the film and also said that the cast including Dwayne and Karen would return to reprise their roles in the sequel. The film is currently being shot in Newnan, Georgia and Dwayne occasionally posts pictures from the sets of his film.

Release Date:

The film is slated to release on December 13 in the US. It will release between December 11 to January 10, 2020, in the rest of the world.

Plot:

The plot of the film has been kept under tight wraps and so far, the makers have not revealed much about how the sequel would explain the ending of the previous film. In 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' the film ended with the players breaking the game apart to make sure that no one else would get stuck inside it again. How did the game build itself up again or was there a secondary Jumanji game is a question that has to be answered in the sequel. Jack Black and Dwayne Johnson, in an interview with Screenrant, had revealed that they would like to see who the mind behind this game was. Jack said, "I think it would be cool to see the mind behind the game. It’d be cool to like explore – because there’s gotta be like some alien technology..."

When Anthony 'Fridge' Johnson, Martha Kaply, and Bethany Walker visit Spencer's home, they realize he is missing and try to go back into the game to rescue him. That is also how they pull Spencer's grandfather and his friend Milo (Donald Glover) into the game. It would be interesting to see how the rest of the film plays out.
