LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Polish woman who thought she was Madeleine McCann, reportedly declared that she will do another DNA test after the first one disproved her story. Julia Wandelt's claims were refuted by a DNA test that confirmed her ancestry was Polish and that she definitely was not the three-year-old toddler, who went missing in May 2007 in Portugal.

Wandelt, who also uses the surnames Wendell and Faustyna, shot to prominence after claiming on social media that she might be McCann due to similarities in their ages and appearance. She went on to submit her samples for three tests to identify her DNA sequence and establish her ancestry. The test results, however, came back negative. Wandelt took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal she will be doing another DNA test.

'Fake Madeleine McCann' says she's 'in touch' with private investigator hired by missing girl's family

'Everyone knows why I want to do this'

"I want to do this because I just want to do this and I don't even have to explain why but I think everyone knows why I want to do this. When the results come I will let you know everything," she told her followers on Sunday, April 16, adding that she has the support of "official people and law enforcement."

After losing her original Instagram account with the username iammadeleinemccann, Wandelt created a new account AmIJuliaWandelt and insisted in recent posts that she "never said I am Madeleine. I always said that I believe I could be Madeleine."

The Polish national spoke out after returning to her home country, saying that Fia Johansson, who took her under her wing during the early days of her claims, was "trying to scare" her and that she was no longer sure the self-professed "psychic medium" wanted to help her at all.

"When I first met Fia for the first time I thought she wanted to help me,” Wandelt said, adding, "Now I know she wants only new followers, new clients."

In another update on Sunday, she said that she thought Johansson began making false allegations about her because she was angry that she had returned to Poland and sabotaged her chances to work with production companies using her story.

Johansson, on the other hand, said that Wandelt was probably shaken by the reality that she was not McCann. “Although Julia is disappointed about this revelation and the spotlight may fade away, the truth as presented in the results speaks to perhaps an unwelcome new reality," she said, adding, "I am glad she is safe and sound with her family she perhaps does not want. Her doctor of several years had prescribed medication which she was not taking consistently.”

According to Johansson, doctors determined that Wandelt did not have leukemia but had Cushing syndrome, a pituitary disorder. She concluded by wishing the young woman well for the future. “Julia has had a difficult childhood, we know she has been sexually abused, she has been very open about this, and my investigation uncovered legal records proving that this was true,” Johansson told The Sun.

'Stop this now'

Johansson said a man was jailed for his crimes against Wandelt. “Then on top of that she felt she was being ignored by her mother, who refused to take the DNA test which could have stopped all this from the beginning and given her the closure she needs,” she reportedly said, adding, “At first she didn’t want to believe the DNA results, she was saying ‘What if someone changed the results?’ but I told her, ‘Stop this now.’”

Johansson continued, “I can understand as a psychologist why she didn’t want to believe her mother is her real mother. But I told her she must stop this fixation now that she is Madeleine McCann and accept the result of the DNA test and start to move on with her life,” adding, “The DNA test has proven she is from a small village in Poland where her mother and many cousins are from. These tests don’t lie."
