Julia Wandelt: Woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann slams psychic medium Fia Johannson for exploiting her
WARSAW, POLAND: Julia Wandelt, who became an internet sensation after claiming to be Madeleine McCann, has hit out at her private investigator with harsh accusations in a statement. The 21-year-old Polish woman insisted in late February that she might be the three-year-old little girl who vanished during a family vacation in Portugal in 2007. However, the DNA results arranged by the self-proclaimed Persian medium have disproved her assertions.
Wandelt, who also goes by Wendell or Faustyna, released a lengthy statement on her Instagram where she addressed a series of topics concerning the McCann case as well as Fia Johansson, who was her lead spokesperson. In the statement shared on her Instagram profile called @amijuliawandelt, the 21-year-old accused Johansson of "trying to scare me" while also sharing that the psychic is unwilling to return her documents. Wandelt also claims that she was "forced" to sign a few papers despite being unable to understand the meaning.

'Who are you? Fraud'
Last week, Wandelt shared screenshots of her chat with Johansson on Instagram where the pair appeared to talk about documents. In the conversation, the Polish woman asked Johansson to return all the documents while the latter claimed that she did not have them. The post also featured a lengthy caption where Wandelt questions the psychic's authenticity and ponders whether Johansson ever wanted to help her.
"They are not legal because I told you that I don't understand the language of law in English and I wanted to talk to a Polish lawyer," Wandelt wrote in the caption. "You knew I wanted to go home and you tried to scare me by saying that if I didn't sign I wouldn't go back to Poland." She said that Johansson only wanted to "make money" at the expense of the sensitive situation. She added: "Who are you? Fraud."
Wandelt wanted to be a singer
Recounting how she got manipulated, Wandelt said: "I will not let you try to destroy me or other vulnerable people like me. I will use my voice to help me and other people." According to Marca, there are speculations that Wandelt always wanted to pursue a career in music. As per the media outlet, the young woman can now focus on it, given the media attention she has received during this time.
