LOS ANGELES, CALIFRONIA: Whoopi Goldberg is never hesitant to ask for what she is worth, no matter who it might annoy. Even though the actress from The View still has two years left on her contract, insiders claim that she has been looking for a raise.

The source said, "Whoopi came to this job with a bigger name than anyone. She's got real star power." And, according to the 67-year-old actress, everyone wins when she implores for extra money. While the hosts have changed throughout the years, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Sara  Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin now share the stage with Whoopi.

'If they're savvy, they'll use her high salary'

"It raises the bar and sets a precedent for her coworkers," the person stated. They added, "If they're savvy, they'll use her high salary to bargain for higher pay for themselves." However, only some have such a viewpoint. According to the insider, Behar, who reportedly earns $7 million a year compared to Whoopi's $8 million, has become impatient with Whoopi's avarice.

"She wants parity with Whoopi and thinks she deserves it," the source added, as reported by Radar Online. According to the insider, the 80-year-old believed that "the more Whoopi takes, the less there is for everyone else." Despite the sentiments of her cohost, Goldberg is unyielding. In any case, the Ghost actress is reportedly watching out for herself.

'It's not going to stop her driving a hard bargain'

The insider further noted, "As far as she's concerned, it's none of her business how much the others are making. It's not going to stop her driving a hard bargain." Given that she has been the most troublesome presenter on The View in recent years, Goldberg exudes a lot of confidence. The most recent incident, in which Goldberg hailed the departure of right-wing political commentator Tucker Carlson from FOX News, prompted calls for her resignation from ABC fans. She caused a stir, however, when she declared that the Holocaust's extermination of European Jews was "not about race" in her statements on it. She eventually apologized, but ABC still removed her from The View in February 2022, as per reports.
