Is Josephine Langford a musical prodigy? 'After' star composed songs as a child before turning to Hollywood
The world knows Josephine Langford primarily by her two big connections to the entertainment industry. First, she's former '13 Reasons Why' lead actress Katherine Langford's little sister. And second, she herself was the leading lady in the extremely controversial teen drama 'After', borrowed from a Wattpad trilogy called 'Dark' by Anna Todd.
Ever since, Langford has become quite the familiar face in Hollywood, winning the Teen Choice award for her role of Tessa in the 'After' franchise. However, a little known fact about the young actress is her musical talent which has been proven through her self-composed songs all penned when she was just a schoolgirl.

Born in Perth, Western Australia, Langford's parents are a flying doctor and a pediatrician. As a child, Langford became interested in music and began with playing the saxophone, the violin and even the piano. In 2008, She was just 10 when she wrote and performed a song called 'Shadows' for a music competition and the song ended up winning the title "Song of the Year".
Before that, Langford had also penned a song called 'Lonely' in the year 2007. In 2008, she composed a song called 'Sea Shanty', soon after which the secondary school she attended — All Saints College in Perth — labeled Langford a talented composer.
A snippet of her song 'Shadows' is still on YouTube through a fan account and the less than two-minute song has fans gushing over little Langford's voice from when she was yet to turn a pre-teen. As a child, Langford reportedly wanted to sing and compose songs that would play on the radio, but clearly, her talents took her elsewhere.
Now she's making both girls and boys swoon over her portrayal of the goody-two-shoes Tessa, who's swept off her feet by a very dark, bad boy version of Harry Styles, in the form of Hero Fiennes' Hardin in 'After'.
Having starred in several TV anthology horrors like Hulu's 'Into the Dark: They Come Crawling', and in the upcoming Amy Poehler feminist teen comedy 'Moxie', Langford is setting up quite the path the way her older sister Katherine did when she had first entered Hollywood. Langford's film debut was the 2017 title 'Wish Upon', and the same year she had made her television debut in 'Wolf Creek'.
Although she hasn't publicly spoken of her musical dreams, her fans would sure love to hear what her singing voice sounds like now, over a decade since she won her first title as a bonafide composer.
