Although Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have presented different accounts of how the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' actor severed his finger during one of the many fights they have had during their short-lived marriage, the former did agree with his ex-spouse on an important detail pertaining to the aftermath of the incident.

Depp recalled the gruesome episode of his life during a deposition for a legal case settled last year in which the actor accused a former lawyer, Jake Bloom, of wrongly collecting millions of dollars in fees. A video of the court deposition was obtained by Daily Mail.

During his deposition, Depp maintained the same account of how he lost his finger that he had mentioned in his court declaration submitted last year in the $50 million defamation lawsuit that he filed against the 'Aquaman' actress. In the declaration, he had mentioned that he severely injured his finger when Heard threw a vodka bottle at him that smashed on a countertop where his hand was resting.

"The first bottle went whoosh just past my ear. And the second one was a larger bottle and she threw it from about this distance and it smashed into the bar, which, this finger who I now call little Richard, was, the tip of the finger was severed and all the bone in here was completely shattered," he was heard saying during his 2018 deposition.

In her own 300-page declaration, Heard claimed that the actor cut off the tip of his finger when he slammed a "hard plastic phone against the wall" in March 2015 after he had downed eight pills of MDMA and stayed awake for nights in a row while shooting a movie in Australia. She added that every night was filled with instances of various domestic abuse that Depp inflicted upon her that she would try to escape by barricading herself inside her bedroom.

"On the third day of Johnny staying awake without sleeping, I came downstairs to find numerous messages Johnny had written to me around the house, on the walls and on my clothes, written in a combination of oil paint and the blood from his broken and severed finger. Johnny also urinated all over the house in an attempt to write messages," her declaration stated.

She also submitted some of the photos of the messages that Depp has allegedly written in that instance to the court.

According to Daily Mail, the incident of Depp's injured finger was brought up during the lawsuit against Bloom because the accused attorney's law firm had prepared a post-nup agreement that Heard was asked to sign the night before the fight. An argument ensued between the couple after Heard refused to sign the papers.

Heard got increasingly angry as Depp kept on insisting that she sign the post-nup. Depp's rage also got flared up after he accused his then-wife of having an affair with her former co-star, Billy Bob Thornton.

During his deposition, Depp did not deny the fact that he dipped his severed finger in blue paint and wrote messages like "Billy Bob" and "Easy Amber" on a mirror. According to sources, the actor proceeded to write the messages because he was in a state of shock from the finger-severing incident.

Depp did not elaborate on the part where Heard claimed that he urinated around the house after the incident.
