John Mellencamp is NOT marrying Jamie Sherrill nor is his ex Meg Ryan banned from 'wedding'! Here's the real story
A tabloid has recently claimed that singer John Mellencamp is banning his former fiancée Meg Ryan from his wedding with celebrity skin expert, Jamie Sue Sherrill, also known as Nurse Jamie
It was reported that Globe revealed that duo Mellencamp and Sherill were to tie the knot. The report stated that after a few months of splitting with Ryan, Mellencamp is gearing up to for nuptials after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. A source has apparently revealed to the outlet: "John has already proposed to Jamie and wants to marry her as soon as possible. He believes Jamie is the love of his life and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Once things get back to normal, making her his wife will be John’s top priority."
The source further dished a few more details, revealing that the upcoming event will be "grand" with hundreds of guests attending, all except Mellencamp's ex Ryan. According to the outlet, the about to be wed duo are "firm" on the decision to not allow Ryan at the event. The source spoke of this further saying, "There’s no way Meg will get an invite, not because of their romantic history, but because John’s still bitter about the way things ended." It was also said that Mellencamp wants to be able to "start a whole new chapter" without his ex "anywhere near it."
While this was so explicitly reported, Gossip Cop reports that all news except for the fact that Mellencamp and Ryan are in splitsville and that Mellencamp is dating Sherril, everything else is false. There is no marriage between Mellencamp and Sherrill once the COVID-19 lockdown is over. A representative for Mellencamp has said that the story of the wedding is simply not true.
In November 2019, Mellencamp and Ryan's engagement was officially canceled after what was arguably quite a tumultuous relationship. A source had confirmed to People that "He loves her, but marriage never seemed to be a part of it,” the source continued. “It’s unclear how important a marriage was to Meg. But they spent a lot of time together and it’s too bad they split. They really got along so well together.”
Furthermore, in April 2020, E! News reported that Mellencamp was officially dating skincare expert and television personality, Jamie Sherrill with a source confirming to them that "they are really happy together," and have been "dating since the beginning of the year."
Gossip Cop has revealed that the outlet Globe "has a history of being unreliable about Ryan and Mellencamp," claiming that Gossip Cop had called out the outlet in 2019 when it claimed that Ryan called off her nuptials with Mellencamp after a so-called "botched" nose job. When Gossip Cop was able to reach out to representatives of both parties, they were able to confirm that the story was "absolute fiction."
