AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan, known for being outspoken on virtually any topic, opened up about his dissatisfaction with how the character of Hulk was treated in Marvel's 'Avengers: Endgame'.

Changes in the superhero character have made the rendition of 'Avengers: Endgame' highly contentious. However, Rogan is certainly not alone in his thoughts regarding the MCU's treatment of the character as the director of 'The Incredible Hulk', Louis Leterrier, seems to hold a similar opinion.

Joe Rogan's thoughts about the Hulk in 'Avengers: Endgame'

During Episode #1411 of 'The Joe Rogan Experience', Rogan admitted he doesn't like what happened with Hulk in 'Avengers: Endgame' while conversing with 'Iron Man' actor Robert Downey Jr.

"I didn’t get the whole Smart Hulk thing," said the UFC commentator, adding, "I didn’t get how he figured that out. Wasn’t really… like… Hulk is supposed to be Hulk. He’s supposed to be the alter… It’s like one you can control, one is the genius scientist."

Downey Jr seemed to agree as he replied, "Exactly."

Louis Leterrier's views on Hulk being a 'complex character'

The Hulk is a superhero noted for having several numerous personalities of himself, each with a distinctive quality that sets them apart.

Even though the MCU has only featured two of these iterations — Rage Hulk and Smart Hulk — they stood in stark contrast to one another, making the latter look far more immature and weak than it did any development for the character, according to some.

'The Incredible Hulk' director Louis Leterrier echoes the viewpoint and has discussed it extensively.

"Hulk is a complex character within the Marvel Universe. You want the primeval Hulk… the rage Hulk. And then when you go Grey Hulk and Smart Hulk you lose that a little bit and you get a little bit more kiddish with it," expressed Leterrier.

The Hulk is a very multifaceted character, according to the filmmaker, and while Rage Hulk and Red Hulk are what the character is most known for, his other incarnations, such as Grey Hulk or Smart Hulk, may come off as a lot more innocent in comparison.
