Joe Rogan reveals why he got upset after YouTube removed Roseanne Barr's controversial podcast about Holocaust: 'It's so crazy'
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Roseanne Barr "sarcastically" disputed the Holocaust in an interview, and YouTube's decision to remove it infuriated Joe Rogan. Barr made an appearance on Theo Von's podcast 'This Past Weekend' in June. In the course of the conversation, Barr launched into a tirade regarding the legitimacy of the 2020 election, mockingly asserting that President Joe Biden had received enough votes to win.
“Nobody died in the Holocaust either. That’s the truth. It should happen. Six million Jews should die right now because they cause all the problems in the world. But it never happened,” she said. The full video was later taken down by YouTube due to alleged breaches of its hate speech policies.
'It's so crazy'
On The Joe Rogan Experience's July 4 episode, Rogan and comic Tom Segura discussed YouTube's decision to take down Barr's interview. “It’s so crazy. I can’t even understand it. I don’t even understand how this could possibly be real,” Rogan said.
He further added, “I just don’t understand how someone could think that this kind of censorship is okay.” He said that Von has been given a strike and is unable to post to his YouTube account for a week.
‘She’s always been Jewish’
Rogan then played the entirety of Barr's interview-related remarks. After watching the clip, Segura said, “It’s all based on the actual Holocaust line for sure.”
“It has to be. But she’s Jewish. It’s obvious she’s Jewish. She’s always been Jewish,” Rogan said.
Rogan pointed out that she had clearly been making fun of Biden's electoral victory before making her Holocaust reference. Both Von and Barr have stated that the statements made on the show were intended to be humorous and not to be taken seriously.
