Jill Biden rep seeks Fox News apology for Afghan flak, trolls say 'Melania got worse'

Jill Biden’s press secretary Michael LaRosa is demanding an apology from Fox News after host Rachel Capos-Duffy accused the First Lady of failing the nation by allowing her husband to run for presidency. “When you look at what’s hurting America, when you look at this lack of leadership, and you wonder, who are the people responsible for putting someone this incompetent and frankly this, you know, mentally frail in this position?” Campos-Duffy asked, adding: "I’m sorry, as a political spouse, I can’t help but look at Jill Biden… No one knew better his state of mind than Dr Jill Biden,” she added. Campos-Duffy is married to former Representative Sean Duffy (R-WI).

Campos-Duffy, who hosts 'Fox & Friends Weekend', said the most “patriotic thing Jill Biden could have done was tell her husband -- to love her husband and not let him run in this mental state that he’s in. I think she failed the country as well." Her criticism comes amidst a spate of backlash at President Joe Biden, accusing him of being on a weekend getaway while the Afghanistan crisis continues. Vice President Kamala Harris and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki too have been accused of being absent and not addressing the Taliban takeover and problems surrounding evacuation by the August 31 deadline.

But as LaRosa demands an apology from Fox over the comments made about the POTUS's competency, the internet thinks him that former First Lady Melania Trump went through worse. Slamming Campos-Duffy, LaRosa tweeted: "@RCamposDuffy and @FoxNews know better. They can do better and their viewers deserve better. I hope they’ll apologize to the First Lady and leave this kind of talk in the [trash] where it belongs."

The social media however not only agrees with Campos-Duffy, but they are now slamming LaRosa's demands of an apology, writing: "Did you miss the trashing that Melania Trump took from the media, not to mention the current president and VP that also took shots at her?" Another replied to LaRosa's tweet, writing: "lol you're obviously suffering from denialism...Jill is a big girl ...I'm sure she can handle it. Melania Trump got a lot worse."

Others asked, "After busting Donald and Melania for 4 yrs Dems can't take the heat?" Another supported Campos-Duffy while drawing the Melania comparison, tweeting: "Rachael spike the truth. Why should she apologize. All you people in the Biden administration apologize to Melania Trump for all the hateful statements. Go suck an egg. Jill Biden is complicit is this debacle of a Presidency." And one user called apologies to Melania, writing: "Fox news should apologize to Jill Biden when all other media outlets apologize for their treatment of Melania Trump."
