Past domestic violence charges
As mentioned earlier the arrest on Thursday isn't Ronnie's first tryst with the law enforcement agencies owing to domestic violence charges, The Bronx native has previously got into hot water when Jen and he got into a fight that quickly turned violent in 2019. At that time Ronnie was tasered and arrested after he allegedly hit his 32-year-old girlfriend while chasing threatening her with a knife and kidnapping their daughter. He had seven misdemeanor charges from the 2019 incident. Two charges were dropped in February 2020, and he was charged with felony domestic violence, child endangerment, making criminal threats and brandishing a weapon.
Although Ronnie managed to escape serving time in prison, he was however sentenced to probation for 36 months; serving 30 days of community labor in his home state of Nevada; paying $20,000 to the Jewish Family Services of LA, a women’s shelter in LA, completing a 52-week domestic violence program in Nevada; and also abide by a three-year protection order.
Ronnie and Jen's turbulent history
Ronnie and Jen have a bit of turbulent history filled with domestic altercations and arrests. Previously, Jen allegedly threw an ashtray at her baby daddy during a fight at the Hustlers Club in Las Vegas. The reality star was struck in the face and filed a battery report with the police. Charges were later dropped. Prior to the ashtray incident, in June 2018, Ronnie was allegedly caught in a seat belt outside of a car being driven by Jen with their child inside in Las Vegas. He was dragged and bettered. Following this incident, Jen was arrested but the case was dropped due to 'insufficient evidence'.
At that time Ronnie explained on an episode of 'Jersey Shore' that those events were completely out of his control, and was hoping that it never happened again. He said, "A bunch of unfortunate events that were completely out of my control, and all I can do is stay away from the situation that got me to where that is. All I can do is move forward and hope it never happens again, and just grow as a person and grow as a man and grow as a father. That's all I can really do.” He is currently dating Saffire Matos.
