Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro arrested after 'striking' girlfriend Jen Harley, chasing her with knife while holding baby daughter
MTV's Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was reportedly arrested early Friday morning in Los Angeles after engaging in an explosive altercation with his girlfriend Jen Harley. Reports allege that Ortiz-Magro was on drugs at the time the incident occurred.
The 33-year-old was taken into police custody after reportedly "striking" Harley at an AirBnB rental at around 2:30 am, TMZ reported. Ortiz-Magro allegedly "slapped and punched Jen" and chased her around the house with a knife while he was holding his 18-month-old daughter Ariana Sky.
Police "broke down the door" to the house because they were worried that the little girl might be harmed in the altercation, according to the outlet. The Jersey Shore star reportedly refused to cooperate with the officers and "go peacefully" so the authorities were forced to use a taser on him.
The outlet also obtained a video that showed officers placing Ortiz-Magro on a gurney in a seated position and restraining his hands. The heavily-tattooed 33-year-old, in the clip, appears stone-faced, staring straight ahead without blinking as paramedics put him into the back of an ambulance. The clip also shows Harley standing outside her residence holding a sports drink in her hand.
Reports state that Harley, 31, had placed 911 calls "in distress" after she ran around the home screaming for help. Harley, according to a 911 tape obtained by the outlet, pressed a panic button inside the AirBnB house in the 7200 block of Woodrow Wilson Drive, Los Angeles. During the call, she told the authorities that Ortiz-Magro "went off the rails after doing coke.
The celebrity later dropped the knife and locked himself in the house with his daughter. Paramedics later checked Harley and the baby for injuries, reports state that neither had suffered any major injuries during the incident. However, Harley did appear to have marks on her face.
Ortiz-Magro was taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation and was booked later for kidnapping.
