Jeremy Clarkson says he apologized to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for ‘naked parade’ column
LONDON, UK: Jeremy Clarkson has shared that he had apologized to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry via an email on Christmas Day, last year, by calling out his comment 'disgraceful' and apologizing for the same. The disgraced TV presenter in his recent Instagram post revealed once again repeating how much he was 'profoundly sorry' and regretted writing that controversial piece for The Sun. He wrote on his official Instagram account on Monday, January 16, “One of the strange things I've noticed in recent times is that whenever an MP or a well-known person is asked to apologize for something, no matter how heartfelt or profound that apology may be, it's never enough for the people who called for it in the first place.”
He further said in his lengthy message, “So I'm going to try and buck the trend this morning with an apology for the things I said in a Sun column recently about Meghan Markle. I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hands up. It's a mea culpa with bells on.” Both Clarkson and the newspaper had already apologized for the publication after the backlash in December. The outlet in a statement said, “Jeremy Clarkson wrote a comment article about the Duchess of Sussex. It provoked a strong response and led to a large number of complaints to Ipso, the independent press regulator."

It further read, “Columnists' opinions are their own, but as a publisher, we realize that with free expression comes responsibility. We at The Sun regret the publication of this article and we are sincerely sorry.” The Sun also said that they have permanently removed the column from their websites and the archives as well, reports DailyMail.
In the controversial column, Clarkson wrote that he ‘hated' Meghan and dreamed of the day when she was "made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her". The ‘Top Gear’ host first apologized for his column on December 19, saying, "Oh dear. I'd rather put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people. I'm horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in the future.”
Jeremy earlier explained, “Usually, I read what I've written to someone else before filing, but I was home alone on that fateful day, and in a hurry. So when I'd finished, I just pressed send. And then, when the column appeared the next day, the land mine exploded.”
