LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Jeremy Clarkson's daughter has reportedly taken a stand against her own father after the English journalist wrote a hateful piece against Meghan Markle. Emily Clarkson has cleared that she does not agree with her father’s lousy views of the Duchess of Sussex.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the 28-year-old shared, “My views are and have always been clear when it comes to misogyny, bullying and the treatment of women by the media. I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything that my dad wrote about Meghan Markle and I remain standing in support of those that are targeted with online hatred.”

Emily’s comment came after Jeremy’s op-ed for The Sun claimed that he hates Meghan. However, his harsh words did not stop there the broadcaster shamelessly went on to state, “I hate her on a cellular level. At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”

Jeremy also with confidence noted that “everyone who’s my age thinks the same way,” before adding, “But what makes me despair is that younger people, especially girls, think she’s pretty cool. They think she was a prisoner of Buckingham Palace, forced to talk about nothing but embroidery and kittens. That makes me even angrier. Can’t they see everything that’s happening is so very obviously pre-planned.”

Soon after the publication of the article, the 62-year-old faced backlash from several people, like Welsh media personality Carol Vorderman tweeting, “NO Jeremy Clarkson. Not on any level, in any circumstance, is it ok to write this stuff about any woman & absolutely NO to ‘everyone who's my age thinks the same’ No no no. We absolutely do NOT think the same. Listen to the noise Jeremy. The crowds are chanting ‘shame on YOU’.”

Later after Emily’s Instagram statement, Vorderman added in a separate tweet, “Jeremy Clarkson. His wonderful daughter Emily has just put out a statement on her instagram account. ‘I stand against everything that my Dad wrote about Meghan Markle’.  FYI Emily has spoken many times about how she suffered very badly from online abuse when she was younger. 💪🏼👏🏼”

Comedian Dom Joly said, “Literally gobsmacked at the utterly vile and disgusting comments written about Meghan Markle by Jeremy Clarkson in the Sun. What an utter piece of trash he is…what is it with these type of men that triggers them so?” Activist Dr Ayoade Alakija wrote, “Jeremy Clarkson should be arrested for incitement of violence against a woman. This is the way ‘society’ works - open displays of hate, misogyny, racism.  It is nauseating that anyone can defend any part of this behaviour & yet many of us are conditioned to cope & not complain.”

British doctor Ranj Singh tweeted, “The worst part of what #JeremyClarkson wrote, isn’t what he actually said… It’s the fact that he exists in a space where he feels it’s permissible to say those vile things - and someone thought it was OK to publish it. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE.” British political activist Gina Martin added, “Retweet if you think big media channels have a responsibility, when women are dying every three days from misogyny and male violence, not to legitimise and embolden abusive misogynistic views. ITV should fire Jeremy Clarkson.”
