Jennifer Lopez stands up for Ben Affleck over SHOCKING comments on Jennifer Garner
Jennifer Lopez broke her silence over false claims made on her behalf in multiple reports that said she is "pissed" at boyfriend Ben Affleck over his comments on Jennifer Garner. Affleck shares three kids - Violet, Seraphina, and son Samuel with Garner.
Their 13-year-old marriage ended in 2018 with her driving him to a rehabilitation center so he could rid himself of his alcohol addiction. Fast forward to December 13, 2021, Affleck went on the 'Howard Stern Show where he touched upon his issues with alcohol and said he'd "still be drinking" if he had stayed married to Garner. He double-downed on the statement with a shocking comment saying, "it's a part of why I started drinking... because I was trapped." Garner's fans flocked to her side immediately after the interview went live and multiple outlets put out their reports about what Affleck said during that conversation. "@BenAffleck You are a very small man. You have addiction issues and blame it on your ex. Guess what, you're selling a betting app on TV. You just can't help yourself. Jennifer Garner was there for you. She could have kept your kids away from you!!" read a tweet. "What a PRICK @BenAffleck is to initmate that #JenniferGarner was responsible for his alcoholism! Hello! YOU made the choice to reach for the bottle instead of help! You are an adult, not 13 years old! Grow a PAIR, and OWN IT! Do not blame your ex-wife you Prick!" wrote another.

JLo stands by her man
Reports emerged two days after Affleck's comments went viral, saying JLo wasn't happy that he dissed Garner publicly. “[Lopez] is pissed. She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this," Page Six heard from their source. The outlet was further told about JLo that "She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben’s kids.” Regarding Affleck, the source said, "It’s reckless and cavalier of him." Contradicting these statements was another source who said, "This is simply not true and the focus is on the children."
During the chat with Stern, Affleck also said “I was like ‘I can’t leave ’cause of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.” He attempted to clarify that the media twisted his words as he appeared on Jimmy Fallon's late-night talk show this week. “I had gone on and said how much we respect each other and cared about each other and cared about our kids and put them first and went through our stuff. And they said that I had blamed my ex-wife for my alcoholism and that I was ‘trapped’ in this marriage. Just made me out to be the worst, most insensitive, stupid, awful guy." He further said he wouldn't want his kids to think of him as someone who would badmouth their mom.
A PEOPLE report on December 18 stated JLo continues to stand beside her troubled boyfriend and that Benifer 2.0 is as solid as ever. Referencing reports that say she was pissed at Affleck over his comments, JLo shut the rumor mills down saying, "This story is simply not true." She added, "It is not how I feel," and further said, "I couldn't have more respect for Ben as a father, a co-parent, and a person."
