HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Connelly hit the Oscars red carpet along with her son. The 'Top Gun: Maverick' star who received an Oscar for best supporting actress in 2003 looked stunning while posing for the photos with her younger son Stellan Connelly Bettany, 19 who she shares with her longtime partner Paul Bettany, at the 95th Annual Academy Awards. The mother-son duo opted for a classic black look for the iconic event.

The 'Snowpiercer' star made her iconic entrance in a gorgeous strapless Louis Vuitton gown with a diamond-studded portion below her neck. She wore huge diamond rings on each hand and had her jet-black hair tied back in a tight bun. Her evening shoes were hidden by the elegant black gown that skimmed the red carpet. Stellan, her middle child, joined her on the red carpet dressed in a formal black suit with a white shirt, black coat, black tie, black pants, and black shoes.

'Top Gun: Maverick's' iconic ending

On the Oscar red carpet, she also discussed her collaboration with Tom Cruise on 'Top Gun: Maverick', describing what it was like to fly in the actor's private jet at the film's dramatic end. "I had a moment's pause when he started the engine and flames burst out. No joke, literally flames burst out,' she said. "Yes, so I had a moment's pause. But you know, he's so skilled and capable. And he really inspired confidence. I felt very safe," she added.

"That's a friendship right there when you're like, I see the flames. I'm still going to enter this, yet I trust you," she added. She also spoke about learning how to sail for the movie, adding, "not as well as it appears that I sail in the movie. I have to say, "I had a little help with that. But I did take a lot of sailing lessons," she said, and when asked if she'd use those skills in the future, she said, "I would love to. I really enjoyed it. So much fun." As an Oscar winner, she was also asked whether she had any advice for individuals attending the ceremony for the first time. "No. Clearly, if they're here, they're doing lots of things right. I just wish everyone the best of luck," she said.
