Insider reveals how Jeff Bezos popped the question to Lauren Sanchez during Spanish holiday
IBIZA, SPAIN: Lauren Sanchez's engagement to Jeff Bezos most likely took place behind closed doors. The Amazon CEO is said to have proposed to his journalist girlfriend, who has won an Emmy. The proposal might have taken place when they were by themselves on holiday in Spain, one day after it was claimed that they had moved their relationship forward.
The 59-year-old proposed to his partner soon after they had arrived in either Ibiza or Mallorca, Spain, in the middle of May, according to a TMZ report. According to sources, the millionaire made a private proposal where just the two of them were present. Additionally, they were said to have kept the engagement a secret for days.

A source explained to People how Jeff and Lauren were feeling after getting engaged, saying, "They have been in a great mood and are obviously enjoying their trip. Lauren in particular seemed wild with delight as they visited the yacht when they initially landed in Spain."
"Lauren continues to enjoy the tanning deck," the source disclosed. Midway through the week, they stopped in Ibiza for lunch before heading to France, where they spent the weekend, the source added.
The source further added that the two "look very happy" and "are typically hand-in-hand." "Her engagement ring is beyond stunning. And huge! She keeps playing with it and looking at it. You can tell she loves it." The source added, "He proposed last week. They're on cloud nine - so happy and madly in love."
Engagement away from public eyes
Photographs obtained by TMZ revealed Jeff and Lauren boarded a luxurious yacht after the latter arrived in Mallorca on May 15 aboard a private plane. The couple was spotted on CCTV departing for Ibiza two days later. Lauren was photographed on May 17 with a ring on her finger.
Jeff and Lauren first made their relationship public in January 2019. With his former wife MacKenzie Scott, Jeff is the father of four children. Lauren has two children from her relationship with her ex-husband Patrick Whitesell. With her ex-boyfriend Tony Gonzalez, she also had a son.
