What is Jane Lynch's net worth?

Celebrity Net Worth pegs Jane Lynch's net worth at $16 million, which is huge considering the fact that she wasn’t necessarily a household name until the character of Sue Sylvestor came along for her. She was reported to be earning $80,000 per episode of 'Glee'. The musical comedy-drama television series aired on the Fox network in the United States from May 19, 2009, to March 20, 2015.

Jane was raised in Dolton, Illinois, the middle child of “a family that was pure Americana”. It was a milieu, as she observes, in a Vogue report, right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. There was no room for transgression in sixties Dolton; “normal life” came right after “food and shelter” on her Midwestern mom’s list of priorities. She attended Thornridge High School, where Lynch described herself as a floater who coasted from group to group.

She received a bachelor's degree in theatre from the Illinois State University. She went on to earn an MFA in theatre from Cornell University. Lynch came out as a lesbian at the age of 32. She married clinical psychologist Lara Embry, PhD., mother of eight-year-old Haden, in Sunderland, Massachusetts, in June 2010. The couple is now divorced. She is currently dating Jennifer Cheyne, who she dated once in 2000 and later reconnected with a decade later.

Lynch has been a familiar face on TV for over a decade, appearing on hit shows such as 'LA Law', 'Judging Amy', '7th Heaven', 'Two and a Half Men', 'Gilmore Girls', and 'Criminal Minds', to name a few. At the same time, she also appeared in numerous television commercials, including one for 'Frosted Flakes', a children's cereal brand. Much of her initial acting work began on the stage. She spent 15 in Chicago working with companies like Steppenwolf and Second City.

Her income also comes from her voiceover work in children’s cartoons and movies. She has given her voice to multiple animated films including 'Space Chimps', 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs', 'Shrek Forever After' (as Gretched), and 'Wreck-It Ralph' (as Sergeant Calhoun).

Awards

In 2013, Lynch received the 2,505th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the television category, located at 6640 Hollywood Boulevard. For playing Sue Sylvester in 'Glee', she won a Primetime Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, TCA Award, Satellite Award, and People's Choice Award. Lynch has received five Primetime Emmy Awards from twelve nominations, two Screen Actors Guild Awards from six nominations, and a Golden Globe Award from two nominations.

Autobiography written by Lynch, titled 'Happy Accidents', was published in the fall of 2011 by Hyperion Voice. The actor was inspired to write the book after reflecting upon the successes of the past year and wishing she could have told her more anxious, younger self to not worry too much.

Real estate, cars, jewelry

Lynch and her first adopted dog, a Lhasa apso named Olivia, found a two-bedroom cabin located on a double lot in LA’s bohemian Laurel Canyon neighborhood. She spent every penny of her $70,000 savings on a down payment, according to People. A decade later, her home was suffering from severe structural issues, which caused Lynch, who was then starring in the hit TV series 'Glee', to begin looking for another place to live.

She found herself not wanting to leave, so she enlisted architect David Alvarez and design-build firm partner Marmol Randziner to create a new 2,378-square-foot, two-story home that “still had the spirit of that original house,” but with modernized features and an additional upstairs area. 'Will & Grace' set designer Peter Gurski helped her choose paint colors for her walls and the drapes in her living room, and designed the back porch, which features a heart-shaped light and a colorful homage to her production company, which her neighbor Spike Stewart painted for her.

“I named the corporate entity from which I work Canyon Lady Productions because I’m a big fan, of course, of Laurel Canyon — that’s where I live,” Lynch says in a video tour of the property on People. Inside, personal mementos have been incorporated, like a Singer sewing machine that used to belong to her grandma, which now sits on a table in her foyer, and a bust of her 12-year-old rescue dog Millie, which is proudly displayed on a table in her living room. She also keeps a wall of family photos, a space to display her four Emmys, as well as a SAG Award and a few other awards, and a memorial shelf for all of her beloved former animals. “Without animals, a house does not feel like a home,” Lynch says.

Lynch owns a Mercedes Benz. "Love my car. Love my car company! Proud to be a #MBAmbassaor ! ⁦@MBUSA⁩," she said in a 2018 tweet.

Jane Lynch dazzled in the 2011 Emmys as New York jewelry shop Doyle & Doyle accessorized the actress in over $700,000 worth of antique and estate baubles. “Our inspiration was Greta Garbo, since she is Jane’s favorite actress. We focused on jewelry we felt Greta herself would have loved," Pamela Doyle, who co-owns the store with sister Elizabeth, said to InStyle. Her wedding ring was a platinum and diamond ring, picked up by her ex-wife Lara Embry from Doye & Doyle. For her wedding, she wore gray Ali Rahimi trousers and a cream silk tux blouse.

The official 2021 Golden Globe Awards was telecasted on February 28 at 8 pm ET and the pre-show was streamed live from the official @GoldenGlobes Twitter account and on the website goldenglobes.com at 6.30 pm ET.
