James Corden said he will paying the salaries of furloughed staffers of the 'Late Late Show.' After 60 staffers from the 'Late Late Show' received their last paychecks from CBS this week, host and producer Corden informed staffers that he will personally cover their salaries.

It was reported that eight weeks of salaries of the production staffers that were furloughed were covered by the network after the production of the 'Late Late Show' shut down on March 15. Although unaware of the total amount, Corden informed some staff members that on May 4 they would be furloughed but that he will pay their salaries out of his own pocket. The total amount is estimated to be at least mid-five-figures per week. The staffers of the show have been given work-from-home projects related to the show during the lockdown and Corden and Ben Winston, the executive producer, have also put together "speaking series" every day through Zoom for them.

The English actor, comedian and television host, who is known for his CBS talk show, had initially started off his career in Hollywood with TV show roles in  ‘Boyz Unlimited’, ‘Teachers’, ‘Hollyoaks’, ‘Little Britain’, and ‘Dalziel and Pascoe’. He also starred in movies such as ‘Whatever Happened to Harold Smith’ and ‘Curse of the Gods’. He rose to fame with his role in the British drama series 'Fat Friends' in 2000 and the show was the recipient of a few awards and nominations.

In 2010, Corden began his hosting career with the show, 'A League of Their Own’, and in the same year he played a role in 'Gulliver’s Travels.' Corden went on to gain popularity in 2011 by playing the lead role in the award-winning comedy 'One Man, Two Guvnors’ and appearing in movies such as 'Begin Again’, ‘Into The Woods’, ‘Kill Your Friends’, and ‘Trolls’. In 2015, he began hosting 'The Late Late Show with James Corden.'

Meanwhile, California is set to reopen the economy phase by phase and shows like “Late Late Show” could be among the first that may resume production in a controlled environment, reported Variety. With all this under his belt, Corden is said to have a net worth of $12 million as of 2020.
