James Charles says he'd date 'absolute youngest' in resurfaced old video amid allegations of grooming a minor

The dust hadn't settled on the pedophilia and grooming allegations that are currently reported against James Charles and now, an old video has resurfaced putting the social media star once again in a vulnerable position. 

After an old video where Charles allegedly claims to be into "young people" started doing the rounds on social media, the atmosphere started getting even tenser for the YouTuber and beauty mogul.

During his guest appearance on the 200th episode of Jake Paul's 'IMPAULSIVE' podcast, Charles said, "So, the thing is for me, I'm 21 but I have the mentality of a 40-year-old. So, for me, I'm much more mentally and emotionally mature than a lot of people my age. I'm not physically attracted to older guys, which sucks. Like, I would date the absolute youngest like 18-19 that looks a little bit older."

The resurfaced video added fuel to the recent grooming allegations against Charles. Twitter has lashed out at Charles with many still in disbelief and others showing anger. "um what the fawk.." one user tweeted, while another said, "Except none of the guys he talks to 'look a little bit older'."

 

Many users on social media are calling out Charles for his statements and his alleged liking for young men. "No James... that’s absolutely not okay..." one tweeted. "I wonder how they gonna give him a pass on this one," another user said. 

Some users slammed the alleged predatory nature of Charles: "it’s like he WANTS the power imbalance. signs of an abuser," one user tweeted while another said along the same lines, "bruh this is so predatory someone put him away."

Murkier allegations

The situation for James Charles worsened as an apparent high school friend has now gone on record to talk about his alleged manipulative behavior. According to reports, Charles would allegedly catfish straight men using pictures of women from his class.

For Charles, as a social media user pointed out, the "situation's just getting scarier". 

Amid the mounting evidence of grooming, Charles had issued a statement on his social media refuting the allegations saying that he started flirting with Isaiyah, the 16-year-old boy who accused him of grooming, only after confirming he was 18.

He concluded his post by adding, "After false allegations like this in the past, I would never knowingly engage with anyone underage and put my life on the line for a few snapchats. Because of situations like this instead of taking someone's word for it, I now will ask to see the ID or passport of every guy I have a conversation with"
