Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz: Predictions for most-awaited August 5 boxing match
CLEVELAND, OHIO: The August 5, 2023 matchup between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz won't be remembered as one of the best boxing matches ever. But whatever happens, it's evidence of Paul's ascent. He faced fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib in his boxing debut less than four years ago. Now, he's a clear favorite to defeat UFC veteran Diaz, who will be making his pro boxing debut in a 10-round contest at 185 pounds.
In what is anticipated to be a close to sellout, ringside tickets at the 20,000-seat American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks and Stars, are priced up to $5,000. According to Paul's prediction of 500,000 $59.99 pay-per-view purchases on DAZN, the bout may bring in more than $30 million. The whole bout schedule is broadcast live on ESPN+ PPV and kicks off at 8 pm ET.
Jake Paul vs Nate Dias prediction
After the loss to Fury, Paul completely restructured his team. Most importantly, he parted ways with BJ Flores as a trainer and hired Shane Mosley instead. Paul had previously worked with Mosley when the YouTube star made his pro debut in 2019.
Larry Wade, a seasoned boxing instructor who has been in charge of the strength and conditioning department, was also hired by him. Paul claims to be in the finest physical condition of his fighting career. There doesn't seem to be any animosity between Paul and Flores, who assisted in Paul's development into a professional fighter and will attend the bout in Dallas.
“My prediction is the fight will not go past four rounds because Nate is not going to have the type of defense to keep Jake off of him and the more aggressive he is, the worse it’s going to be for him,” Flores said.
“I think Nate’s going to be aggressive, he’s going to have to be aggressive, and that’s going to play right into Jake,’’ Flores added.
Mega paydays
The Problem Child is back in the ring and looks fantastic as he prepares for his bout against Nate on August 5. The 26-year-old YouTuber is guaranteed to earn $2 million with only a few days until fight night, and the stakes for his success increase to an extra $5 million if he defeats Nate.
Nate, on the other hand, will stand to gain up to $500,000, which will be increased by two times if he succeeds in stopping the Problem Child. Depending on how Jake's bout against Nate goes, the co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, Nakisa Bidarian, says it could be his last.
