Jake Paul shares how psychedelic drugs changed him: 'It showed me to just be nicer to myself'
CLEVELAND, OHIO: YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul talked about his first experience with the psychedelic drug, ayahuasca, claiming that it taught him how to "love" himself once again.
He is among the most active influencer-boxers on the internet. With a 7-1 record, Jake aims to conquer the boxing world by winning the world championship.
In his rush to prove himself, Jake Paul admits that he's been quite hard on himself, a trait that he carried from his early years. Jake has frequently discussed his childhood in public, claiming that his parents were always critical of him—particularly in regard to his athletic abilities.
Jake Paul shares his experience with psychedelics
In an interview with fellow influencer Aubery Marcus, the CEO of the holistic health business 'Onnit', on November 9, Jake spoke candidly about his experience with the psychedelic drug.
Jake described the experience of taking ayahuasca as a loving "mother" who helped him navigate different phases of his life and get a deeper understanding of himself, especially at times when he was the harshest critic of himself.
“On the first night, it brought up a lot of problems of like, self-love, and how harsh I am to myself,” he explained and continued, “…it really showed me to just be nicer to myself. She gave me like a really big hug, and it felt like this love that I needed. It was so cerebral,” Jake said.
He added, “That was really powerful, and that was my biggest takeaway from the whole week was working on that self-love and giving myself credit sometimes.”
Jake Paul claims that his drug-related experiences opened his eyes, causing him to consider his actions and "slow down" from the hectic pace of his work.

In an eight-round professional boxing contest scheduled for December 15 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Jake Paul has confirmed that he will fight Andre August.

Meanwhile, Andre August stated in a November 8 press release, "I don't talk very much. I’m all about that action! Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team, and the resources but he doesn’t have my hunger. When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good."
