SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: Bam Margera was detained on Wednesday after he caused a commotion at a restaurant where his ex-wife Nicole Boyd and their toddler Phoenix, 5, were dining. The 'Jackass' star allegedly shouted at a woman inside the Thai restaurant in Burbank, California, at about 3:45 pm local time, as per TMZ.

It's unclear if the woman he allegedly yelled at was his ex-wife, despite the fact that Boyd and Phoenix were at the restaurant. The detention occured only a month after Boyd, 39, filed for divorce proceedings. According to TMZ sources, Margera will have to pay $500 bail or remain in custody until he gets sober.

Why was Bam Margera arrested now?

According to sources, Margera, 43, was too drunk to care for himself when police arrived at the restaurant. He was therefore taken into custody and charged with felony public intoxication. Social media users have posted videos of Margera at the restaurant, in which he can be seen being furious. Margera is seen entering and exiting the eatery as police watch from outside.

Margera, who was evidently upset, was captured rushing in and out of the restaurant in an Instagram Live video by comedian Evan Breen, who was also at the venue. Later in the video, the stuntman, who had been removed from the restaurant by police, was shown sitting on the pavement and seemed to be having an argument with one of the responding cops.

Bam Margera's history of being arrested

Margera was detained earlier this month on suspicion of assaulting his current girlfriend by kicking her during a domestic violence altercation. The 43-year-old was however released from detention the following day after posting a $50,000 bail, Page Six reported.

Meanwhile, Boyd had to "make the hard choice" in order "to protect herself and their son," despite Margera's claims to be sober. She also requested spousal support, legal and physical custody of Phoenix, and child support. Margera responded by getting his son's name in Arabic tattooed above his eyebrow and then flaunting it on Instagram.

Why did Margera go to rehab?

The former skateboarder has struggled with addiction and has run into legal issues numerous times over the past few years. He also ran away from a court-ordered rehabilitation facility more than three times in 2022 before being transferred to an outpatient program, only to be discovered in a pub a few days later. In the midst of his years-long struggle with addiction to drugs and alcohol, Steve-O pleaded with pal Bam Margera to "choose recovery," as per Page Six.
